"Powershifting" is usually defined as shifting without letting-off the gas pedal.

That way the rpm's don't drop at all between shifts & you stay (higher) in the powerband.

I just got done watching that again...just awesome. How does your car shift when casually cruising around? Do you have to muscle it into gear slightly...?

Nope. Smooth as butter!! I love this TKO-600! It doesn't get hot so it never gets notchy.

In the old days it was without using the clutch. But we have sycronizer's in the tranny that won't allow us to do that. So now it mean's keeping the gas floored.

In my second half of the video I get off the gas justa touch in between shifts, that's why that was only a 12.2 run at 113mph. haha!

So, if I ever need to upgrade I should look into this, ha? Anything special I'd need to mate it to the Mach engine?

Well. My setup is a
-TKO-600 tranny. Stock. I didn't do anything to it.
-A Lakewood blow proof bell housing.
-A Spec 3 clutch with 26 spline. The TKO 600 is a 26 spline input shaft tranny.
-Driveshaft spacer
-GM syncromesh 3 quarts
-shifter handle. I went with a Steeda triax as my Pro 5.0 was way to short. I also got a Steeda stop bolt kit.
-plug for the manual speedo gear hole.
-Other than that I just had to elongate the tranny mount holes. Add some spacers. Modify the reverse light connection.

Easy as pie. I did this on my back in my driveway.

Other parts I have is a Fidanza aluminum flywheel. Spec Pressure plate. Steeda clutch cable setup. Aluminum driveshaft. Driveshaft safety loop

I NEVER Power shifted Louise when I had the 3650 in her.

I'm REALLY looking forward to Power shifting Louise with the same set up as my good buddy Angus!
LOUISE might even be as light as he is! .................this time I won't have my street tune in either!
