Louder Surge valve or BOV for Procharger?

Hey guys does anyone know of a more aggressive sounding bypass valve or compatible BOV for the procharger P-1sc kit? I'm leaving it as blow through and will only be pushing 8-10lbs but would like something with a little more kick than the procharger tweety bird bypass. Any suggestions/tips?

will it still be very loud with only 8-10lbs of boost? I always thought the race valves were for higher boost levels. Thanks-

Re: Louder Surge valve or BOV for Procharger?

Val, I made 10 psi on the big end, with a previously owned Procharged mustang. I originally installed the smaller BOV that came with the kit, however, dissatisfied with it, I swapped it for the race version. Not only did it sound better but it also performed better. It sounded amazing whenever I got out of her. There was no mistaking the "woosh" of the race version.

Im running two Vortech Mini bov in different locations . You can listen for yourself to hear them . They have a very unique sound . You will be able to run one . I had to use two due to the amount of CFMs im pushing . I know Corey is running one large . I prefer the look of the minis myself . But that is your decision .

Here is a clip for you !

I really think the race ati is too loud and anoying for anything but a race application. If you want attention though thats the bov you need.

Re: Louder Surge valve or BOV for Procharger?

I've got the Procharger race BPV and you can't hear it at all, unless your comming down from 6-7k pull. Then you can hear it, but much less that the stock procharger piece.

Kinda hard to explain, but the stock piece was louder that the race by pass valve.

Re: Louder Surge valve or BOV for Procharger?

With the race valve on a blow through application you will hear the " whoosh " sound untill you get boost then it gets quiet. Mine sounds like a jet plane thats idiling.

I know this, I'm not looking to change a thing. It's strange that the little stock POS by pass that procharger includes with the P & D series is MUCH louder than this race BPV. I'm not complaining, just trying to explain the difference.

So because of the noise you'd not suggest it for a daily? Or is it a drivablity thing?
