Dyno Results

Hey guys i finally took my car to get dyno'd this weekend. I was very happy with the results:

First Run
275.4 (HP) @ 5225 (RPM)

Second Run
279.6 (HP) @ 5220 (RPM)

Re: Dyno Results

Was this on a Mustang Dyno or DynoJet?

If it was on a DynoJet, then your numbers are low.

Mine pulled 289/317 stock.

What is your A/F and timing set at?

Jerome

Re: Dyno Results

Come on jerome you know cars and dyno's vary. After my mods and A/F correction, I pulled 295. Besides, 289 Bone stock is not very common. Your timing must have been perfect from the factory - a Wednesday car.

Marco - I would put an Intake and Spacer on that bad boy, when you get the headers. Then do another tune. You should definitely see 300.

Numbers look good to me! I really wish I knew what caused that dip between 5 grand and 6 grand. That dip is somewhat present on the 99-01 cobras too. Makes me wonder if its not the intake design itself causing that strange dip.

Re: Dyno Results

thanks guys! ya as soon as i get the headers put on, im going right to the dyno and get it tuned. Than my exhaust will be complete! Next will be the intake spacer and C&L 85mm MAF Cold-Air and Trueflow Inlet Pipe Kit and another tune. Oh and it was a dynojet. I've looked on the board and one thing about machs the numbers are everywhere.

Re: Dyno Results

Suggestion: get the headers, Spacer, and CAI installed at the same time. Unless you want to see individual gains. That will save you some trips and cash.

Mine had the same dip but was adjusted with fuel and timing and turned into a flat spot from 5k to 6k with only a 1 horse dip
I remember reading a story in MMFF about a cam follower and lifter / adjuster swap that got rid of the dip in a 99 cobra and gained 30 to 40 horses - may not have been quite that high but seemed real significant for a follower swap.
I can't remember the name of the company that made the parts but then again, I don't see anyone on this board just doing follower swaps as a typical mod.
Maybe it's worth revisiting.
