Re: picture of hook up fuel and oil pressure mech gauges

are you looking for where the guage sending units hook to the car? power for the guages? not sure what youre looking for here

just a thought but have you looked at the aeroforce gauges? theyll monitor everything the OBDII does, since we have a fuel rail pressure sensor you dont need anything else and can run 2 add-on sensors (could run oil pressure and boost etc...)

i'm looking at where i have to hook em up to the car, not the power source i got that down. but just wonder where the best spot to hook up. i'm going to get autometer sport comp gauges for sure, if i was going to change it would be the ford racing gauges, they look really nice, but my boost gauge is sport comp so i'm sticking with them and the price is really good for a budget

Re: picture of hook up fuel and oil pressure mech gauges

easiest way to get fuel pressure is just to use the schrader valve on the pass side fuel rail...might need an adapter to thread it on depending on what they supply you with.

Im sure if you look around you can find a pic/description of where to install the oil pressure sensor..might need a Y to use the stock gauge and aftermarket

Re: picture of hook up fuel and oil pressure mech gauges

Ok so i changed my mind and just going to do the fuel pressure gauge, so that i have this straight just hook it up to the schrader valve on the fuel rail??? just want to make sure, if that is correct that is too easy and will work out great,

going with a steering colum gauge pod. don't really need the oil pressure one. imo.

i think with running a s/c the important ones are A/F, boost, and fuel pressure. so i want to have those there for me to view when i need too

Re: picture of hook up fuel and oil pressure mech gauges

Ash, I'm a little concerned that the title says "mech gauges!" I'm thinking you don't want to be running oil and fuel lines into the cockpit of the car!! Electrical gauges with sending units are the best and safest method to use.

Re: picture of hook up fuel and oil pressure mech gauges

for the fuel you would need a isolator to run the mech. inside the car.

i think its autometer part 5282

i would use it for the oil pressure as well, its no fun to have that cheap *** nylon line break and pump oil over the inside of your car. been the done that.

You're not flying the space shuttle, man! Electrical gauges are plenty accurate enough.

ok i just really didn't think they were, so that is why i wanted to get mech. the sad part is after you said this, i already bought my fuel pressure gauge, i'm not messing with oil pressure

Re: picture of hook up fuel and oil pressure mech gauges

since i'm doing just the one gauge on a steering column gauge pod, i hope the Auto Meter High Pressure Gauge Isolators will go on smooth without causing probs with fitment on the install. again thanks for letting me know bout that so when i do the install i'm not having to wait on that part to come in, thanks

do you know off the top of your head where it hooks up to??? didn't know if it would go into the fuel rail area or hook up to the fuel line somewhere, just thought i ask before it gets here, should be here in a couple of days
