Rear camera failure in S550

Hey guys, not Mach related but I wanted to share this info in case any of you own an S550 and are experiencing rear camera problems. I’ve been trying to figure out the problem with my 15 Ecoboost’s rear camera for over a year with no luck. Two replacement cameras, disconnected battery, reset Sync, no luck. Turns out that the problem is that the wires leading to the trunk lid are too short. Every time the trunk opens, it’s putting stress on the camera wires until they break inside a fabric mesh sheath, where you’re unable to see it. Finally tracked the problem down tonight and spliced in some additional wire. I finally have my rear camera back. Apparently Ford is not aware of this as there is no TSB. Hope this helps soneone.
