I would stick with a sporty color, I guess AB may fit that. I like Red, Orange, Yellow and Silver colors on real sports cars. A shade of red would probably be my choice.

A slightly darker/richer Axure blue would be badazz.

Re: New Project "R" thread

It ain't painted yet, but you never know.
Got the new ignition, decklid, glovebox and door lock set installed.
Ventilation parts in, Dash probably going in tomorrow.
Driver door harness and latch assy. installed.
Hardest part of the whole car so far?
Installing the dang IUP pedal covers!
Tough even with the dash and steering column out.

Finished the dash ventilation system.
Dash and steering column back in.
Cobra steering coupler shaft in.
10th Anniversary Cobra shifter boot, parking brake boot,
and parking brake ratchet (Thanks Itlrun!!) installed, console back in.

Both door harnesses now finished, door latches, etc.

No, just a regular 03/04 Cobra wheel or an FR500.
600 bucks for a steering wheel is a bit crazy.

If you watch the SVT forsales you will see one once in a while pop up for sale for around $350. Still a lot of cash. However I love that wheel and want one real bad.

The regular Terminator wheel is about 1/2 that through some sources.
Nice wheel though.

Re: New Project "R" thread

Worked on her all day today.
Did the 99-01 Cobra tail light wiring, foglights, and so far, everything works.
(Hot solder and heat shrink on all connections.
No butt connectors or scotch locks. I hate those things)
GF came in the garage and was amazed, seeing how I got the car as a "skeleton".
Tunes cranking all day.
"Might" hang the trans in there tomorrow. :HOPPY:
Fabricator shipping some parts for test fitment.
Should have them next week.

I figured it would be easier with the dash and steering column out.
Still sucks.

Cry Baby~!

I sell those things all day long and get the phone calls on how hard it is to do, hogwash! That was until I had to do it too. Good Greif those are a PITA to install. LOL

HINT. Soak them in hot (read just short of boiling) water. This will make the rubber easier to work with. You will need gloves, because the covers are going to be HOT. Use a small amount of dish soak (couple of drops) for lubrication. Then you just work those puppies on.

Steve, how did you do it?

I used Vaseline intensive care lotion on the pedal pads.
Just a little, and it was still a PITA.
Hot water is an idea that didn't cross my mind.
I will be needing a set for the Mach soon though.

Re: New Project "R" thread

I Bought the complete peddle assbly from "Karkraft" which makes the accelerator a snap but noticed after getting the old brake cover off and comparing the cutout size on the back of it to the new one, the new one was about 1/8" smaller all the way around, which would explain the fit probs. I took my exacto-drywall knife with a new blade and carefully scored out about 3/32" all the way around, it was workable them but still good and tight.

Re: New Project "R" thread

I tried to install the trans today. (Motor in the car.)
Not a chance. (Garage floor, 2 jacks)
Almost got it in, but even with Kyle's help, I couldn't quite do it.
Cleaned and arranged the garage,
as we have out of town guests coming for CHRISTmas.
All in all, the electrical part is pretty much done.
Horn and RF window motor (defect) inop., but the rest is good.
Seats and interior trim bolted and screwed down.
Looks pretty good.
Also trunk trim is installed.
Need to do LR evap cannister.
Too tired now, need a break.

Took some pics today.
Doesn't look much different really than earlier ones.
Under the hood shot should give you an idea of how it fits......
Final fitment will be better.

Thanks.
I was just out looking at it, going over stuff.
A lot of planning went into this car, ( 2+ years) and I am pretty pleased with it so far.
I hope there are folks out there who want to tackle this 5.4 thing.
Once I get all the details, it really won't be too bad of an installation.
The Mach 460 in this car sounds incredible.
(Was jamming on "Higher" by "Creed")
Sometimes I have to step back and realize what is happening.
Like Dr. Frankenstein!
