New Mach 1.....and im sad
First off, hello from Auburn, Alabama. Im a 19yo student/ work full time. Just bought a 2003 Red Mach 1...14000 miles. Bought it from a Ford dealership for 21000 out the door with 12month/12000 warranty. This was yesterday. The car had to go back to the dealer today-on a rollback. Im thinking it spun a rod bearing. Sad day for me...

Re: New Mach 1.....and im sad
they were origanally asking 22900 plus tax title and everything W/O the warranty. the warranty was like 1600, but i think it has already paid for itself. is this a common problem on the mach 1's?

Re: New Mach 1.....and im sad
No need to baby her. Mine has been road hard a number of times.
Kinda hoping I will break her so I have an excuse to rebuild her stronger and faster

Re: New Mach 1.....and im sad
well, they just got the car to the lot today around lunch. all they did was crank it to hear it run. it started as a light tick and then the next day (today) i was on the way to the ford dealership to figure out what the tick was and it started getting louder. all of a sudden the back tires chirped so i cut it off and coasted to the gas station. cranked it up again it and was a loud TANK TANK TANK. they still dont know whats wrong.

Re: New Mach 1.....and im sad
prodding the dealer a long...send em some pizzas one day and make sure they know its from you? just dont be an azz.
it sucks to have just bought it and have nothing, does the warranty provide for a rental? and at least if it did spin a bearing I would imagine youll get a remanufactured engine, so you know itll be good to go after that

Re: New Mach 1.....and im sad
i cant get a rental because i actually financed it in my grandfathers name (my credit blows) and only he would be able to drive the rental. they are seeing what they can do about getting me a car off the lot to drive.

Re: New Mach 1.....and im sad
+1 on greasing the dealer rather than bugging them. I get great service and the always have me in and out quick, so I make sure everyone knows it. Food never hurts either.

That blows. They should be able to provide you with something since they are working on your car..

Re: New Mach 1.....and im sad
Find out what their repair plan is and post up on here. I have heard if they replace the engine it is with a remanufactured engine.

Re: New Mach 1.....and im sad
Being nice will always get you more in return. I am sure the dealer hates that your car broke down.
