Re: NASCAR thread
I've found myself coming back to watch Nascar racing after some years. It looks more interesting. I like the track surface now and the least worries in tire failure in years.
Nevermind, I'm recovering from back surgery... ...and feeling better everyday!!! around 28 to go

Re: NASCAR thread
I don't really care for the pair racing but, the finish was pretty cool. I'm glad Earnhardt Jr. did'nt win. I'm getting tired of everytime something has to do with Earnhardt Sr. then suddenly someone pulls a win out of their butt.

Re: NASCAR thread
FORD FTW. Dont care much for this butt buddy racing either but it might get interesting if they try it somewhere like Bristol.

Re: NASCAR thread
So much for all the Chevy hype. I think I just found my driver to replace Kahne {since he left a Dodge team). It was great to see the Motorcraft car in victory lane.

Re: NASCAR thread
I heard on the radio that Glenn Beck was there for his first race.
Bet he had a blast.

Re: NASCAR thread
Certainly not what NASCAR had in mind! This is supposed to be a Govt. Motors series.`
My first thought as the 4th place car got greased was "1963." Then it was actually 1-2-3-4-5 Ford as another Woods Brothers 21 car won with a newcomer driving..... |

What a cool way to spend your 20th birthday weekend!
Congrats to the Ford guys, and especailly the Wood Bros. Team on showing all of the 'experts' what they know. And to all of the Gordon and Johnson and Big Ears fans...

Re: NASCAR thread
I think Waltrip just needs to park it....whens the last time he finished a race on the lead lap...or finished one period? It was cool to see Fords 1-2-3 at the end.

Re: NASCAR thread
And as a postscript (and notice NASCAR has not touted this fact), the winner of the Daytona 500 is not only not the points leader (that would be Carl Edwards), nor would he win the championship should he win every race for the rest of the season. Because he is registered in the Nationwide series for his points, he garners no points in the Cup series regardless of how well he does. Has France & Co. shot themselves in the foot again?

Re: NASCAR thread
Looks like the reason the FR9 was delayed
was due to additional cooling system development. Good call by Robert and Doug Yates. It just paid off handsomely.

Re: NASCAR thread
By the looks of the run that Carl had at the end, I would have to agree.
In an addendum to my earlier rant about the new points system, it is not only the Cup series that is founled up as of the first race of the season, but all three. The winner of each series race this past weekend was by someone not registered to accumulate points in the series they won in, so in all cases the leaders in each series did not win their race. Can this get any goofier?

Re: NASCAR thread
The new Chapionship trophy will be the "Brian France" trophy.
Not really a trophy, but a vase with one pansy in it. Wilted, and leaning to the left.

Re: NASCAR thread
So (and I do really want to make this as completely confusing as it can be) do the owners/manufacturers still get the points? Will there be an apology at the end of season by the Champion if the actual points leader is not the same person? Could we see a Hyundai/Kia car or even a Car of The Day After Tomorrow?
