Leather seat covers

Just like everyone else, my driver seat cover is getting worn out. I checked online to see if I could buy just the driver's side seat cover, in leather like the original, and I came up empty-handed. Does anyone know of a place that either has the original leather seat cover for the driver side, or the whole driver's side seat that is original from the Mach One? I don't mind buying the upholstery for both the driver side and passenger side, but I will put the passenger side leather cover on eBay to hopefully recoup some of the expense because I don't think anybody has sat in that seat even 25 times since I bought the car new in 04. I found the passenger and driver side covers at TMI for just under 1K so I would be willing to sell the passenger side cover for $400 if anybody is interested. By the way, I would have posted this on the interior section but it doesn't seem like there is much action on that section of this site.

Re: Leather seat covers

I've been in touch with a local upholstery shop about mine as well. He feels he can replace the worn section with conventional Ford leather, I want to get it refoamed as well as the inflatable bad mount fixed as it hadn't worked properly in some time. Finding someone who has replacement seat covers is almost impossible, I've looked for some time. The only I know of is the TMI kit, but the insert texture is not the same, and requires their foam as well.
Any other ideas or suggestions would be appreciated as well.

Re: Leather seat covers

That's good to know about the texture of the TMI replacement leather cover. So many companies tell you that they are exactly the same but they really aren't. As far as the foam goes, as long as it's closed to the original, I wouldn't mind if I had new foam put in as well because over the last 14 years, I'm sure it has lost a lot of its original support and I don't even notice because it has happened so gradually. I just want it to look as original as possible.

priced each.
I have been looking too. When I bought the car last year the passenger side seat was pristine but It appears the old leather doesn't stretch as must as the foam so now I need both sides.

Re: Leather seat covers

I found it more economical to purchase a really nice set of used seats. But my drivers seat had a bit of a lean to it so I feel I needed a new frame as well. Got all the seats for about $900. on Ebay. will swap them and try to sell my old stuff to recoup a few bucks if possible.
