I wonder what "Tribute" means?? Since it is not a matching numbers car, price MAY not be to ridiculous.

How can you have a Mach 1 "tribute" car if it's not a fastback (or "flatback" in the 1971-73 models)?
I had a 1971 Mach 1 back in the late 70's that had a 429-4V from a '73 Lincoln transplanted in place of the original C-code 302-2V. Not a lot of hp from the mostly stock Lincoln motor (I think it was like 212 net HP stock back then) but gobs of torque. It was a fun car and was actually a 1971 Shelby GT-500 "Tribute" car with added scoops and stickers. Only back then we didn't know it (LOL).

still have mine. ironically, it started as one of my dad's fix-n-flip projects. it turned into his toy that later was basically gifted to me as a high school graduation present and my DD thru college.
(351C 4bbl w/ electronic ignition and C6 - which later lost 1st gear and was swapped for 4 spd - 3.50 traction lock rear end that was taken from a bronco) |

I always felt the 71-73 "big 'stangs", were probably the best drivers and most comfortable. Rearward vision in the fastbacks was even worst than the earlier ones. The 429/460 block would have been nearly the perfect motor in those cars if safety standards, emissions controls, and rising fuel costs hadn't killed them off after 1971. Fun cars, got rid of mine in 1979.

i loved driving her. she wasn't much for corner carving but would take a foxbody GT at a red light and purred like a kitten on the highway.

My first Mach was a '71, white, 351C, C6. it was a fun car.
