Smoking exhaust
I blew the inside of my drivers side cat out and it was rattling around so I cut the cat off and spliced in a new piece of pipe. Then the car started to smoke so I removed the passenger side and spliced in another piece of pipe. While under the car I found the passenger side O2 sensor wire was broken so I just removed it. Still smoking. The smoke is white, and gets more dense when I start back going again, then seems to taper off until I slow up. Any thoughts on what is causing this? I haven't had it tuned so Im leaning toward that being the culprit since I have completely changed the exhaust from stock.

Re: Smoking exhaust
Did you take out the upstream o2 sensor or downstream?

No, I left all the o2 sensors in. I just unplugged the pigtail that had the broken wires to the rear one passenger side. It was smoking before that anyways. It only started this smoking thing after the catalytic converter blew out and I removed it.

Re: Smoking exhaust
...so what do you mean by "blow out?" white smoke? Sounds like a head gasket.

Re: Smoking exhaust
Blew out as in he blew the inside of the cat out if I had to guess.

Correct. The cat filter, or whatever is inside it literally came undone inside and was rattling around. Now both of them are cut off and I spliced in flex pipes where they used to be. I'm pretty sure the smoking is coming from a valve seal leak on the drivers side head. So now, I have a loud *** exhaust and it smokes a little. It's one problem after another with this car. I'm debating on selling it and buying a terminator if any more problems arise.
