Dealership Offers

Is it just me but as of lately I've been receiving a lot of offers in the mail for my Mach. Seems like Mach 1's are in demand and the dealerships around me are willing to pay to have it on their lot. Has any one else been seeing these?

Re: Dealership Offers

Have you had your car serviced at the dealerships that are sending these offers? Odds are they are just trying to get you to trade.

Re: Dealership Offers

That is pretty much a ploy to get you in, because if you sell it tp them, you will need another car. We are beginning a slow time of the year for car sales, and this is an attempt to search for sales. The KBB has increased the Machs value as of late, though.

Re: Dealership Offers

DId they tell you how much ?? Ive had 2 offers from dealers. 9000 and 9500... I DONT think so. Funny how you always get offered the low side of blue book and they want high side of whatever they are selling.

Re: Dealership Offers

Anybody seen the Auto Trader commercials where you can get a quote from them and then take it to certain dealers that are a part of their 'system' - the quote is good for 'x' amount of days?

I did it back in July - was thinking about a used '11 5.0 at the time. This is what i got from them:

AutoTrader.com's Instant Trade-In Offer on your 2003 Ford Mustang 2dr Coupe Mach 1 4.6L for $13571 expires on 07-03-2012.

To redeem your Instant Offer or trade in, take your vehicle to one of the dealers listed on your offer confirmation within the next 24 hours.
If you miss the deadline, you can resubmit your Instant Trade-In Offer, but your offer amount may change.

Please allow approximately 30-40 minutes for the dealer to verify the condition of your car. Appointments are not required. The dealer will verify the condition of your car, which may include a test drive. If the
inspection report differs from your online assessment of your vehicle's condition, the final offer amount will be adjusted based on the report.

Guess they can adjust if need be, but i still think it was a pretty good quote. Just throwin' it out there for younz to think about. BTW, mine's an '03 with about 32,000 miles, IUP, auto. Oh, and it's OW - so it's obviously worth more since it's faster.

Re: Dealership Offers

I think maybe I've gotten one a long time ago. It's just a ploy to low ball you out of your car. They make more on used cars than new cars because they can royally screw you on the trade-in. My worst offer was $8,000 back in 2004 for my '00 F-150 4X4 Supercab. I bought it for $25K and just 4 years later I lost 66% of the value. Yeeeeeeah, right. Thieves.

Re: Dealership Offers

I've never taken my car to the dealership ever, so I just thought it was strange. It's also not the same dealership that I keep getting these quotes from, its multiple of them. I have no plans of getting rid of the Mach, just wondering if I wasn't the only one.

Re: Dealership Offers

I've had a dealership call me at least 4 times a week for the past month and a half trying to get me to trade the mach in for a new car. Getting fairly annoying actually.

Re: Dealership Offers

I get people trying to buy it from me all the time, but never had a dealer try. My dad even tried to buy it from me while i was deployed and i was letting him drive it.
