from what I understand the outside part is for jacking. I'll check to make sure.

Re: Suspension wish list

So I saw a lot of people talking about an IRS, for anyone that goes go IRS, I would highly recommend you contact Full Tilt Boogie Racing and also Kenny Brown racing for advice on upgrading the IRS BEFORE you put it in the car. Since you have it out, all the mods can be done before you put it in.

ASh, what are you doing for the front control arms in the car? Going to stay with stock arms? I saw you are talking about Steeda ball joints? The X2 ball joint is the same as the Ford motorsport ball joint. I was never able to finagle the info but I've heard rumors that the X2 ball joint is just an off the shelf ball joint from a Lincoln or another Ford product that just happens to work perfectly. I think the main difference is the Steeda unit has a zerk fitting in the bottom.

If you keep the stock control arm you should do the bushings. Almost no one replaces the bushings in the front arms and that small one takes a beating. The big one binds a bit too but the small one is a world of trouble for weight transfer. I've tried 3 different bushings at this point and I don't like any of them. None of them have specs on how far to put the bushing shells in and the ones that go into the existing shells aren't engineered properly and the arm can actually move back and forth a little bit which changes your alignment. A guy at a shop up here turned me on to the Global West bushings and he said these ones are the best by far. I've bought a set and am going to put them into my arms after I get my K/motor back into my car in a few weeks. Just something to think about.
