Torn between two Mustangs...

So i'm having a internal battle with myself. While I like my Mach1 I have been thinking alot about getting a new GT.

Not sure what color I would go with but the end result would be something like this.

I've driven a 2012 and loved it! Anybody gone from their Mach to a new 5.0? Would you do it again?

Only reasons to keep the Mach are monetary or you want something less common than a GT.

Re: Torn between two Mustangs...

i think its what ever you want, just get a new GT and put a shaker system on it, i had this thought come on with me, but soon realized that there is to much money invested into the Mach and would be a hugh loss and i'm almost done with the mach. it just comes down to what you like and want, if your mach is paid off or almost paid off atleast you don't have to make payments any more for it and also if you wait a few years the price for the new GT's will be alot less than what they are, i say sleep on it for a few weeks and then choose on what your going to do

While I like the mechanicals of the Boss the paint and interior does not do to much for me.

I'm not big on silver either but that one just might make me change my mind. I already checked out the insurance, it's only $27 more for six months.

Don't have a lot of money wrapped up in the Mach so not a biggie there. I do like that I have the only AZ Mach in town and have only seen about 4 others total in the time that I have owned it.

There have been people posting on here that they wish they didn't jump ship to the new 5.0.. The Mach just has more personality....

Re: Torn between two Mustangs...

If you do go with a new 5.0

1. Don't put a shaker on it. There is a 07 with a shaker at my girlfriend's apartment, complete with custom pin stripe and Mach stickers. I stare at it everytime I drive by but I just can't get on board with the look. It isn't nearly as nice as our cars.

2. Kona Blue

Seems as if the new 5oh has issues. Oil consumption and also the motors blowing cyl 8 because of tuners. The lack of use of a tuner makes every mod worthless

Would not even think about putting on a shaker, maybe a small cowl hood.

Kona blue or Grabber blue are my top choices. If they had screaming yellow that would be my first choice

Re: Torn between two Mustangs...

even a gt is a big upgrade from the mach. its just a better car front to back no matter how you look at it.

whether it looks better or not is your preference.

Think about it in the long run. How many GTs are being made? Are they as limited as the Mach 1s. If there is a large production number, the Mach will have a higher value and collectiblity down the road.

Re: Torn between two Mustangs...

I have my mach still, but the 5.0 is a beast in it's own right. Seats are very comfortable, but im not much for alot of the little things.

It has bad blind spots, feels like a boat compared to the mach, I hate the side view mirrors and the second little one on it.

Insurance is in line with what I pay for the mach, it came down compared to what I was paying for my truck I traded in.

I like the mach more overall for feel, looks and handling, but stock for stock the performance of the 5.0 is worlds better than my mach.

Re: Torn between two Mustangs...

I sold my mach and am looking at a new GT vert--I thought I wanted the base model, but the interior is very low rent--trying to decide if the premium is worth the 3-4k more. The extra horsepower is very nice--I easily got one going sideways on a test drive and I was barely on it. We'll see.

I really like the looks of the '12s. Not so much the rear. And I definitely miss the shaker hood. You can't have everything in life--so I'm learning

Not really concerned about collectibiliy as my Mach is a DD as would be the GT.

With all the ansewrs you already gave, seams to me you already have your mind made up.

The 5.0 Gt is a sexy looking car imo, I also test drove one and burned the tires through 1st an 2nd...I was alone on the test drive, lol. When I hit the gas it hesitaited for a quick sec then took off. I wasn't impressed with the throttle response, but thats nothing a tuner couldn't fix.

I just rolled 80,000. I picked mine up after my GT hydroplaned. If I was still in the GT I would not even think about getting rid of it. The GT was far from stock thats why I would not get rid of it. The Mach has C&L CAI, IRS,lowered and Steeda sub frames welded in. All of the mods minus the CAI came off the GT So I don't have alot invested.

for sure smart thinking, yea its not worth having a hugh car paymet when you already have a amazing stang already. just after the 2011 GT came out, i'm very happy with all the feedback and performance you can get out of one, its amazing, i think Ford finally got it right
