theres no real difference between them supporting it on tires or supporting it on stands. Even you just have them under the frame and they droop it should be fine

Re: ok to leave car on jack stands for a few months?

I think mine was up 12 months at a time between builds; struts/shocks just fine. I did have the rear end on jack stands so the weight of the car was on the rear shocks; but fronts were just hanging.

Re: ok to leave car on jack stands for a few months?

I personally jack mine up just enough to take off load off suspension..I don't UNLOAD the suspension completely but just enough...

Re: ok to leave car on jack stands for a few months?

As long as you take the tires off you should be OK. The suspension is not designed for prolonged downward force. It could cause early wear on suspension parts or wheel bearings especially if you leave the tires on. I like to keep mine on the ground in case of an emergency. If my house catches on fire or something like that, I can always roll or drive it out to safety if I have time to do so.
