Re: Duryea Hillclimb Aug 15/16
After impact, obviously!
Left side tire was plowing bad and right side was dragging on the inside of the tire due to the camber. All that = bang! LOL! The roll back is a Chevy. The driver is always breaking my stones over driving a Ford and he was heartbroken to see that he had to tow it. I broke his stones and told him he was LOOKING for a reason to tow it so I gave him one. hehe!

Re: Duryea Hillclimb Aug 15/16
I'm going to look at a couple of 99-04s tomorrow. Depending upon how the bodies are will depend upon what I do.
Last night my wife told me she thinks it'll be less hassle to get a15/16. But that's not necessarily true. I'll still need to do the R&D for a hillclimb suspension. Then there's the issue of getting 315s under it. While I don't care about cutting fenders etc, the issue is how the bumper covers connect to the fenders and 1/4s. So that's just 1 facet. Then, if I go with a new one, I will part this one out. So we'll see What to do.... What to do...

LOL!!! The rule is that if you're worried about crashing, don't do it.
While I don't look to wreck, things happen. Its all good

Re: Duryea Hillclimb Aug 15/16
Well. I race hard and race to beat cars I shouldn't be close to. So it stands to reason that at some point, you gonna get bitten!!! LOL!!! No reason to cry about it.

Re: Duryea Hillclimb Aug 15/16
Have to imagine the benefits of the 15/16 suspension geometry would be pretty tough to turn down. Not only that; making power with the coyote is pretty easy as well. Pick up one with no options and start modding! As much as I love my Mach; if I had to start over because of a total loss I think I would have to go the 15/16 route. They are just that much better. Actually, getting a GT350 would be awesome as well; those are fantastic.

Re: Duryea Hillclimb Aug 15/16
How about starting a tube chassis build? Then making it a mach 1 but correcting the geometry in the suspension. Correct the weight distrabution. Put a coyote in it or ls motor (sorry)
Just for the cost of the build seems like it would be be slightly cheaper than a 15/16 but you can make it the way you want to make it from the start and run what ever size tire you want under it |
