MACH 1-99/01 SVT Cobra Throttle Cable Reproduction
Hey guys, I noticed some wear on my 03 Mach's throttle cable near the firewall so I went to order a spare to keep in my trunk in case it ever snapped (I commute a lot with the car). Ford doesn't produce them anymore/carry them and the only ones available are used examples on Ebay for 200+ dollars. I called National Parts Depot (who recently picked up the SN95 and New Edge platform) and somehow got a hold of their President/Owner. He took down my info and sent it over to their in-house Mustang guy. Guy did some research using Ford's database and found that the latest version of the cable will fit the earlier build date Machs (and Cobras, albeit that was confirmed through the fanbase, not Ford) and that the part seems relatively easy to reproduce. He said he will attempt to get a hold of some cables that are in good shape so they can figure out how hard it would be to reproduce/if it would be cost effective. No promises were made, but there is now a possibility that we could see this really simple but sought after part put back into production for us 4 Valve guys. I'll keep everyone posted as they go through the process. Definitely give NPD a call if you need help with your rides, they were nothing but friendly and knowledgeable when I talked to them.

very cool. I know a guy doing a mach swap in his sn95 2valve and he was extremely lucky to find the throttle and cruise cables for a reasonable price

You'd think that Ford would have produced more of them for us. Terminator cables are plentiful and they only made a handful more of those than Machs...
