Re: dynoed the mach finally
Ported manifold with stock runner length, stock cam timing, and all accessories spinning yes. 320-325 rwhp, DynoJet, SAE corrected is actually typical for a "full bolt on" Mach, and was pretty common place on this very board back when the old crew were still posting here.

Headers aren't required but the gains are substantial with longer duration cams.

Re: dynoed the mach finally
106100s can be dropped in without having to upgrade valvetrain? And as far as deferring the Cams what do u recommend? Still want a rough idle without costing a ton to do the valvetrain upgrade

Re: dynoed the mach finally
They can but if degreed for a rough idle will reduce their power potential.

Re: dynoed the mach finally
Those cams were installed at 106/110. Setting the up so tight results in a rough idle and a quicker than normal drop in power after peak. So, if you shift at 6500 or lower and want a rough idle install them at love centers above. If you want to extend the powerband install them at 112/114.

Re: dynoed the mach finally
Ok, please excuse my ignorance but I have questions pertaining to the subject matter. I also plan on running 106100's and also saw and loved the red mach video on youtube. I like they way it sounds and have heard great things about this cam grind. As far as 106060's, does it create a rough idle and require you to change out the valve-train? I would like to build a low 12 second N/A with a more aggresive than normal idle. Also I would like to know where I can acquire a PSRI and their potential cost.

Re: dynoed the mach finally
That's my car your talking about. Yes they are the comp 106100's. They are degreed at 106/110. I love the way they sound at idle. Although it may hold back a few ponies, in the end the cams were well worth it all. PB with cams/boltons/mickey ts on 10.5 afs wheels was 12.3 @ 118 and 12.1 @ 119.20/119.90 on racestar wheels on the rear only.

Re: dynoed the mach finally
NASVT, I have heard your short runners are among the best, sorry for the PSRI, that is just what they are most commonly referred to as. I am interested and wondering your pricing, I am not ready to purchase yet as all I have done to my car is a JLT RAI. Basically I am combing the forums trying to assemble a build list for my goal of 350-370 RWHP and mid to low 12 Second E.T.s. I know to get anywhere near this goal, 4.10's, full exhaust and a short runner with Drag radials are a must. I haven't looked much into the 106060's but I will certainly give them a look. I want the car to sound "cammed" while making the best power from it. It will be a daily driver and my goal is a N/A nasty little street car that will out run 70% of the cars it encounters. Any advice is taken into account and greatly appreciated.
SHAKN'04 I'm assuming PB stands for ported blower. If that is the case I would think you would be deep into the 11's with a blown and cammed car? -Tim Last edited by 04DSGAZMACH; 08-28-2012 at 12:04 AM. Reason: I missed info |

PB is personal best. Times stated above were without a power adder. I went into the 11s already with the blower and a clutch slipping all gears down the track. Managed a 11.71 @ 120 with a lot more room to go.

Re: dynoed the mach finally
Good info SHAKN'04. I have watched a bunch of your youtube videos and love the way your cars sounds and performs. Your setup is basically what I am looking to do. Low 12's N/A. Did you ever get your car dynoed when it was still N/A. Between you and BMEAGHER I have some parts in mind. When I get my 106100's I will definitely have them degree'd to 106/110. I'm curious on a complete mod list you were running N/A if you want to post it I would be ecstatic!

Re: dynoed the mach finally
Thanks To both of you (SHAKN'04 and na svt) You guys are a great help. Out of curiosity, what is the Comp drop in specs for degreeing them?

I recommend 108/112 for both power and a rough idle. If you want more power after peak (6400-7000) set them at 110-112int/116exh.
