Clutch help

Well it's time for a clutch. I don't have any motor mods and the only thing I'll probably be doing is cams in the future. I really want a soft pedal. So what clutch do you all recommend and why.
Thanks in advance!

Re: Clutch help

I read good things about the Exedy Mach 400 Stage 1, and horrible reviews about a Centerforce Dual Friction, which is probably what is in mine because it sucks.

Cool Re: Clutch help

Get a Zoom ZVT I have one and it locks up like a lock with precision and ease. It is softer than the stock clutch and gets you into the power quickly. Get a F1 pressure plate I got one off ebay its lighter than the stocker so car powers up faster. If your going cams you want a good clutch and flywheel. If you have the money go a double clutch unit if you really want a softer pedal. Zoom and Centerforce make good ones but you going to spend more than a thousand dollars.

Re: Clutch help

Spec 2+ is good, I Ran that before I upgraded my spline shaft after it broke.

I would suggest the Ram Dual Disc clutch, its expensive but the pedal feels stock. I running it now, its great in traffic.

Re: Clutch help

My centerforce has been great. I also installed one in my cousin's bullitt. You might want to remove the counter weights if you do though. I made an install video if you are interested:

Re: Clutch help

Don't get luk. I go the luk stage 2 and it has been nothing but problems. The Kevlar clutch keeps frying itself against the flywheel because it can't take any slippage at all. don't get luk.

Rated at 415 rwtq, probably overkill for him, at 435 rwtq wonder what would be a good option for me..sorry hijack, he is probably good with Stage 1.

Its overkill for me too since I am nowhere near those numbers. I picked it up vs. the Stage 1 because at the time it was cheaper than the stage 1 and well...you never know when the mod bug will bite. Figured if I was replacing the clutch, might as well put something in there that would allow for some modding down the road if I wanted.

I think its still a great clutch even though its vastly overrated for my mainly stock car
