Idea to remove drivers side valve cover..will it work?

I am by myself doing this and was under car looking around and was wondering if this idea would work:

I really don't want to go thru the hassle of removing hydroboost. I already have front of the car on jackstands and I have 2 good jacks. I want to take my jack at the bellhousing and jack up to clear motor mount stud on drivers side (passenger side loose but threaded), and REMOVE motor mount. Then lower car slowly until I can remove valve cover. All the prep is done, this is the last thing to do to remove since cable and adjuster out, PS and bracket, all wires clear and all cover bolts removed. I REALLY do NOT want to nmess with hydroboost. Does this plan seem feasible. I tried to remove as is and it doesn't seem like it will take much to clear that POS hydroPITA ..thanks guys !!

Give it a try. I changed my oil pan gasket with the motor in the car without dropping the k-member after everything I read said it couldn't be done.

I think it will work for you.

Definitely sounds like a good idea! Can't tell you how many times I've done something a little unorthodox and saved a ton of time. A cheapie Harbor Freight strut tower engine hoist might help you out if you don't have one already? Let us know how you make out either way, may be very helpful to someone. -Jim
