New Shaker Seal worth it?
Good morning everyone,
Need some advice, Okay so I can get a new shaker seal from a man that reproduces these things, he has the original moulds that Ford used, part number matches too for $135( EBay final offer from him) includes free shipping. My shaker seal is in good shape and I have no proof it is causing any leaking of water onto my engine, I raised my shaker 3/8 inch from the back this past weekend to address this issue, had my shaker bezel and hood shaved to fit snug against the underside of the hood as well, is it worth it or no? How in the future will my shaker seal fail, rip in the seal? If the shaker seal is drooping, can’t just re-adjusting the seal up be enough to seal against the shaker area? Thanks for any advice.

Re: New Shaker Seal worth it?
Just keep the rubber conditioned and it should last a very Long time. If it is kept in a garage when not driven that will help it last even longer. If you plan this to be a forever car and just want to think ahead, I say buy it and have it if and when you might ever need it! I converted my Air Induction back to stock and had one heck of a time finding replacement parts. Ford does not stock specialty parts for this car anymore.

Re: New Shaker Seal worth it?
I had a saggy seal and water was leaking down the front pass side of the motor. I found a factory replacement on eBay it was a shaker scoop and seal in one kit from Ford. I bought it and swapped out the seal, the leak stopped. I kept the old seal in the box I took the new one out of. I bought both the seal and shaker as I was thinking ahead on the shaker being replaced some day and the parts becoming impossible to find. I did this maybe 2 years ago. Good luck on a remedy. I think I paid about $350 for the kit.
