4:10's in Winter?

Sup MAChers,

This spring I would like to upgrade gears, but since da MACh is my daily driver I'm wondering if it would make it more difficult to drive during the winter season??

Keep it out of overdrive when the situation warrants, and be a little lighter on the pedal and you should be fine.

Re: 4:10's in Winter?

I have been driving every day in Michigan winter with 4.30s and nearly bald tires. Some people think I have a death wish, I think it trains me how to drive better.

Re: 4:10's in Winter?

Though I've never driven my mach in the winter, since installing the 4.10's in my car, traction on a dry road is tougher, so I'd imagine that driving in snow will be tougher with 4.10's installed instead of the stock 3.55's.

Do yourself a favor, buy a winter beater or invest in a good set of snow tires.

Re: 4:10's in Winter?

I drove last winter w/ 4.10s. (Also had blizzaks) It didn't seem any different than w/ 3.55s. I guess it is easier to get stupid w/ 4.10s. Driving in the winter w/ a mach in the Chicago area is always an adventure in paradise. Snow tires are a must. They are a lot better than using 2-70lb bags of sand. (Did that the 1st year.) This winter I got a forester for a dd.
