Re: Starting my Build

Thanks for your input. Was the pump new when you opened it up? I've been doing some research and I've noticed people have had problems with both MMR and the melling pump. Seems like the TSS oil pump has had the best reviews.

Re: Starting my Build

Well the azure blue the shop had didn't really match my car. The azure they had looked more like a grabber blue to me. I hope the color I picked matches up pretty good. My timing cover and my "Powered By Ford“ cop covers will be getting hydro dipped carbon fiber. My valve cover inserts will be getting dipped in carbon fiber too.

You could paint the covers to match your car...it will hold up fine. I did mine in DSG and turned out perfect.

It's a little to late for that now . I think it will come out fine. The valve covers should be ready by Friday.

Re: Starting my Build

Just dropped off the heads to the builder. We ended up going with 1mm oversize REV Intake valves and a 4 angle valve job. He said the ports on the heads were pretty good so no extra porting was needed.

Re: Starting my Build

Since they have your heads. Not sure if you already have them or not but look into a better valve spring since your planning on running that much boost.

Re: Starting my Build

Good idea, i'll look into it. Supposedly the heads are stage 2 Livernois if thats true it should have Livernois single coil valve springs. Did you upgrade your springs? If so which did you go with?

I'd pay to have the heads looked at. A friend of mine trusted a used set of heads that ended up costing him a motor and eventually had to sell his car because of the added expense.

the heads are at the shop right now getting freshened up. when I showed him the heads I asked if he thought they're Livernois and he said there's a Good chance they could be. He really liked the ports and since they were used we went ahead and ordered oversize SS valves, did a 4 angle valve job, and new seals.

Valve covers are here! They're not the perfect match but they look sweet. I also took a sneak peak at the carbon fiber timing cover and that thing looked awesome.
