short block help
im looking for a good, reliable N/A short block..dont really care about forged internals, it'll never be supercharged or anything..whats out there

Get a factory short block from a gt, mark 8, mach1, explorer, expedition. Factory shortblock will be the most reliable in my opinion. Some of these will lower your compression ratio slightly. You will need to check the piston dish.

I checked in the orlando area (you from FL) cheapest saw a 78k motor 2003 mach 1 for $2500 to 16k motor for $4750 if just the short block you can buy a new one from ford for 4000 http://www.fordracingparts.com/parts...tKeyField=9870

havent found anything good out there as far as n/a goes...so what reliable company(ies) can i look into for a fresh short block (will consider forged)

I found a forged short block with 15k miles for 1600. Keep looking. There are some good deals out there.

I'd still build one. Better rings, more compression, who knows... Have fun with the car even if you don't plan to power adderer it.
Stick with stock cast rods and cast crank though IMO.
