Cost to have cats welded in?
I have an o/r prochamber that I would like to add cats to. I got a quote of 160-190 just for labor, but I don't know if it is a good price or not.
What is the going rate and does anyone have any places in Maryland they would recommend? Thanks, Brandon |

Re: Cost to have cats welded in?
That's ridiculous. $75-$100 tops.

311 is spot on ,at least down this way, I payed 80 $ for both welded in. Did you request it to be removable flared and clamped in , maybe thats where the extra price is coming from.

Re: Cost to have cats welded in?
That's more in line with what I thought it would cost.
I just asked for them to be welded in. I don't need to be able to swap them out. |

Anywhere from 40 - 160$, The only muffler shop for 100 miles is privately owned so whatever the hell he feels like charging that day.

Wow! I only charged a case of Shiner; I've done 3 cars/trucks. To bad you are not in Dallas.
If you plan on working on your car in the future, I highly recommend buying a welder and learning how to use it, I have saved tons of money!!

Re: Cost to have cats welded in?
I just got another quote today for 175 for labor. There has to be a place around me that is cheaper but I haven't found it.

Re: Cost to have cats welded in?
It's just an idea, but you could go to your local car shows and strike up some conversation about this to some local car guys. They might be able to hook you up. If you were close to me, I'd say $80-$100 would be enough. Good luck.
