8 rib swap people

Can one of you measure the diameter of the alternator pulley? I did a 200amp upgrade on my alternator and now it won't charge at idle. But charges great once the RPM's hit 1000. I'm trying to find a smaller alternator pulley. The issue is it's an 8 rib pulley.

Re: 8 rib swap people

Metco sells 8 rib alternator pulleys of various size. I believe the stock pulley is 2.73"

What size pulley have you got on there? I've got the stock 8 rib alt pulley from my eaton swap. Measures between 2.5 and 3 inches. You can have it if you want.

Re: 8 rib swap people

Stocker is 2.6". At least the one I have is. Metco's pullies are bigger in order to slow the alternator down. I need to spin it faster. I found a 2" on Jegs I might grab. Or I'll just throw the 4lb lower I have on. Decisions decisions.

Did you upgrade the power (and ground) wires? It should still charge either way, but with higher output units it can be necessary or you get a lot of heat/inefficiency

Yes I did. It charges, just needs more RPM. Went through something similar with a 200amp on our 06.

Lol. It's extremely tempting.
