Re: College Football back in full swing!

Looks like the BIg XII is still alive (even if its the Litte 6 or Half-@ss 9). But I don't think anyone really cares. The Aggies surely don't!

We'll welcome A&M to the SEC...and then beat the crap out of them, too. I'm not too sure they know what they're getting themselves into.

Wisconsin is kickin' Nebraska's butt - I thought that might happen.

Alabama all over the Gators again this year. Not sure Muschamp was the best decision.

Re: College Football back in full swing!

Even though we won pretty big over Ky., I wonder if 'Bamas win might not put them in the #1 spot? We've got Florida next week, and I'm thinking they might want some revenge, especially since we played less than stellar ball on Saturday.

I wouldn't sweat it, I don't think there's any way my Gators can win next Saturday. They are a young, inexperienced team with all new coaches who will probably be starting a true freshman quarterback. They do certain things well (pass protect and d-line play) and they are better coached (by that I mean actually coached) this year. I expect big things from them in the future but there will bumps in the road this year.

Re: College Football back in full swing!

OU rocked the Longhorns world.

I'm guessing there's a lot of 'noles fans that want Bobby Bowden back 'bout now ... 2 and 3 ... ouch.

Gators having their troubles again against LSU - how bad will this game end up?

'Bama vs. LSU is gonna be a war.

LSU/Bama will be ugly. Looks like Fla. is about done. They just want to go find a good place to eat for dinner, since we obviously ate their lunch.

Re: College Football back in full swing!

<---- How about that win last weekend over OU? Such a great game. Hoping to get our season back on track after some close games that ended in 2 losses.

As to A&M....I really don't know if they realize the full effect of joining the SEC. They're record against SEC members was 58-78-6, after this season it's a little worse. Thats less than 50% winning. As ESPN noted, any increase in recruiting by joining the SEC has a good chance of being offset by having a losing football team. The Aggies haven't had a competative football team in a good long while uo until this year. I'm honestly sad to see them leave the Big 12. The worst part though, is the schools word doesn't mean a cows pile of ***** anymore. See the below statement, one of many made. As the school president, how can you come that close to giving your word on staying around, then one year later go back on it for a potential gain in money? No respect from me anymore, so hopefully the door hits them on the rear on their way out. Don't agree to something if you don't fully intend to back it up. Thats what disapoints me the most about the whole situation. Most everyone I've talked to says the same thing.

"Texas A&M is a proud member of the Big 12 Conference and will continue to be affiliated with the conference in the future," school president R. Bowen Loftin said in a statement.

Perhaps a little too harsh?

Re: College Football back in full swing!

Any extra revenue they MIGHT get will be quickly eaten up by travel expenses. No more bus rides for them. I don't see any of the Big XII schools scheduling them as non-conference games in any sport. Poor Aggies. But you can't blame or fault the coaches, I think they played no part in the discussion or decision.

I know I'm worn out! A big bow to Alabama for such a tough game. Now everyone in the country can see why the SEC is THE toughest division in the country, and we may meet again...soon.

Re: College Football back in full swing!

That's the first complete college game I've seen this year. Unless it's a killer matchup, or certain Bowl games, it does'nt hold my interest like an NFL game.

Re: College Football back in full swing!

It certainly was a game. No clear, overpowering team in that one. The missed field goals played a major part, as did Bamas running game and LSUs special teams but in the end that game was definitly a defensive struggle.
