Bad year for texas teams. Can`t go to the championship game and bite the dust against a better old Miss team.

And it never got any better. Bama got humiliated. That's what happens when one team feels like it has nothing to play for in a meaningless bowl game and the the other team is playing for a perfect season and respect for their program. Or maybe Utah is better, without a playoff who knows. Way to go, Alabama.

The winner of Thursday's game is the national champ and Utah gets left out in the cold. Is that fair? Nope, but that is the greedy, corrupt system we have in place, all about $$$$ and nothing, NOTHING else. It's all about tv money, filling hotels, selling food and t-shirts, airline tickets, corporate sponsorships and making a bunch of old men who don't play on or coach football teams feel important. All at the expense of integrity.

Very well put. I agree with you 100% on what your saying. I have to admit that Utah with a perfect record and Texas both get the shaft this year. It`s all about money.

Wink Re: College Football back in full swing!

Bama only had 2 starters on the defensive line in their normal position. That was not how Bama looked all season. That being said, Utah looked great.

.....not Florida great but you know....

GO SEC!!!

Congrats to Vandy, LSU, UGA and Old Miss.

South Carolina needs to get with the program. Sorry Ball Coach, I still love ya.

How about those UK Wildcats! They upped the SEC record to 5-1 (that is until the Crimson Tide shamed the conference with their performance, now we are 5-2. Go Gators bring home the Big Trophy for the SEC!) with their come from behind victory over East Carolina in the "is the Knee down or not Bowl"... uh I mean "Liberty Bowl" Those officials were awful. Then I found out that the crew was from the Big Ten. I guess that not only can that conference compete with SEC, Big 12, or Pac 10 teams' speed, but neither can their officials!

Is it fair to say that so far the only losses by SEC teams have been by schools who are coached by the 2 most hated coaches by the other league schools (Saban by LSU fans mostly and Spurrier by everyone)?

Good job by Kentucky! I agree that the officiating was a little shaky, but I thought it went against both teams pretty equally. Maybe Big 10 officials aren't used to watching players with real speed. By the way, the so-called Big 10 has an awful bowl record this year.

I would disagree with the comment about Spurrier being hated by everyone. Gator fans definately do not hate Steve Spurrier. Every Gator fan I know now pulls for the Gamcocks to win on Saturdays, except when they are playing UF. He is the favorite son of the Gator Nation, the first Heisman tophy winner and the coach of the first national championship team in school history and for that he will always be a beloved figure for us Gator fans.

As for Bama fans, they will always hate whomever is at Auburn more than Spurrier and the reverse is true of most Auburn fans.

I should have put in that disclaimer for Florida fans. Spurrier will always hold a special place in their hearts for what he did for them in the '90s.

Understood completely! This is the same reason we as Kentucky fans despise Pitino for coaching at the dreaded Louisville despite taking UK to 3 Final Fours and 1 Championship (he should have won in '97 too but his refusal to stop pressing Michael Bibby, Miles Simon, & Jason Terry cost us the OT loss against Arizona). We like to refer to him as Benedict Rick! But I digress... this is supposed to a football thread!
