Mach 1 Chin Spoiler Removal

OK so I just purchased my mach 1 about a month back and there are a few cosmetic things I have been working on but the chin Spoiler is giving me trouble. It looked like screws were holding it on but I tried those and they just seem to spin endlessly. So how do you remove the chin Spoiler on these cars? Are my threads stripped or do they just pull out like ford fasteners?

Thanks
Sean

Re: Mach 1 Chin Spoiler Removal

It's been awhile for me, but the best I remember they are push pins, even with the screw head look. I guess that is to help get the pin out to where you can just pull it out which doesn't work very well. I had to use a small flat screw driver to pop the head out so I could grab it for removal.

Re: Mach 1 Chin Spoiler Removal

If you put ever so slight down pressure while un screwing the screws will come out and be reusable.

Re: Mach 1 Chin Spoiler Removal

I spent the better half of yesterday afternoon putting on a new sve chin spoiler. Heads up: not a direct fit for our cars! When using the holes we already have in our bumper covers, many holes in the sve chin spoiler do not line up and using the ones that do line up, the chin spoiler will hang off the bumper cover by atleast 1/2" on both sides in the wheel wells. So....had to re-drill all new holes and move the chin spoiler forward. Thanks sve and lmr! As if having to cut the original fasteners off because they are a crappy locking pin design want wasn't enough.
