Got a new hip...now what?

I’ve been dealing with osteoarthritis in both hips for years. I finally got my left hip replaced 3 weeks ago. Everything went great and I’m looking forward to getting back in the Mach. Has anyone else had a hip replacement and have a manual Mach (or other car)? I’m wondering how long it was before they were able to get back to working the clutch.

Re: Got a new hip...now what?

Hope all is well and your back having fun soon. I had left knee procedure, torn meniscus, I was down about 6 weeks and then slowly started back driving. Usually local runs in case it started to hurt.
Good luck!!

Thanks guys! I got in and pushed the clutch in 20 times in a row and it went well. I’ve been getting in every few days since last week, so maybe that’s helped. If it was one of those new 5.0’s, it would be a piece of cake lol. Those things are feather light compared to our old cable setup lol.

Re: Got a new hip...now what?

Yeah the new hydraulic clutches are nice....but we can repair/modify ours so easily.

Re: Got a new hip...now what?

consider a twin disk clutch, they are really light compared to our stock clutch and they hold a ton of power. I drove the top tier one (forgot the model, just remembered it was the one that handled the most power). I suspect the one a level down would be even lighter. The RST was the one I was thinking about; the McLeod RXT was the one I drove.
