This stuff is not cheap, that's for sure. I'll be supplying my aluminum block, forged crank, manley rods & Melling oil pump, which will cut the cost some.

Since I live an hour away from Fox Power Products, there won't be any shipping crap. Here is what Ron Robarts 89 stang he built which was featured in 5.0 Mustang.

Re: Custom Intake Carbureted & Nitrous Setup

^^ I have that issue at home. lol. Yeah...Iam working on some items right now myself. MORE for the future BUT weighing all options right now. I know Iam going to have to do something down the road and would like to do it BEFORE I have engine failure. Glad to see your progress going well.

WELL...after all the years of following your progresson your car.... my car has transformed from a DD to a weekend warrior by copying a lot of things you have done. I SEEM to be a WHOLE season behind you with MODs...haha. My last track outing got me planning on the future of the car. SOOO...after speaking with my tuner and my financial planner (AKA WIFE). We have decided to make it more of a track car with limited street time. GRANTED, it will see the street BUT limited.

Right NOW Iam focusing on getting parts like you have done. I know I will be doing a forged bottom end with dedicated blower cams. I have spoken with Roy in the past about building the short block so I may have to get with him again this fall.
There are some things I want to do with the suspension (redo rear end for one) and LOSE some weight off the car.

I know the motor WILL be coming out in october for sure. I will need to get my ducks in a row for sure because IT is coming up!

Sounds good, keep me updated..!! I've thought about going blower one day. At least you have a finacial planner, LOL!!

I'm prepping to pull the motor/trans soon. I have a buyer for my factory 3650& Spec 2 plus clutch.

My built (liberty's Gears) brand new TKO 500 (26 spline input) in crate, has been sitting at CRT Performance for about 3 months now and I still have not seen it. I'm going to have to get my butt to Jeff's shop to at least look at it.

YEAH..that is my trans of choice also. I work with a CLOSE personal friend of Joe (Liberty's owner) and he has quoted me a "friend' discount so that may be the trans I OWN soon too.
I dont want to break the stocker while it still can be sold to offset some of the cost.
I had planned originally to stay with the nitrous BUT got such a stupid cheap deal on a procharger system I couldnt refuse. After I sold my nitrous system I ACTUALLY made money. lol

thanks again for all the inspiration!

Pulled the engine with trans & long tube headers out the top. I have a tubular K-member which makes this possible.

More pics: No damage done to the headers. Using the straps let me tilt the motor/trans to the angle needed..

I see you did it in your garage . I was going to say something like why not put it on the lift and drop the K with everything attached ?

Nice ! I take it you have all your parts ready ?

Re: Custom Intake Carbureted & Nitrous Setup

Recieved my S-MAX polished cool can fuel line cooler. It has 9 ft of 3/8aluminum tubing with a pair of -6an fittings. Bottom has a petcock drain valve that comes with it. The back side has a bracket mount TIG welded to it.

You can either pack with ice/dry ice, dry ice I can get very easy from work. As long as I don't forget to crack the drain valve on it using dry ice, LOL!!! Dry ice builds pressure and fast.

However, Its mainly designed to have a pop/beer can inside it which is how I will use it (beer can is my choice). Fill the can (several cans), freeze it, now the can fits snug against the 9 ft of aluminum tubing, for excellent cold surface contact. This will help in cooling the fuel just before it enters the double pumper carb.

I will more then likely install this between my fuel regulator & carburetor.

Well thats a different concept . It seems easy enough , no doubt inexpensive .

The S-Max aluminum can is not cheap, compared to the old style plastic/ cork line cool cans like Moroso. I use to run the Moroso cool cans on my small block Chevy's, during my toddler years..

Since I'm using a crank trigger, the adjusting of rotor phase should be easier vs if the distributor was controlling timing. Just have to rotate the distributor housing to align rotor tip to proper cap terminal, when MSD crank trigger wheel & pick up are aligned. MSD sent a good Tech Bulletin on methods of rotor phasing pending which type of ignition timing/pickup is being used with a distributor.

The cam covers still use the factory rubber gaskets. The distributor has an O-ring that seals in modified port of cover.

Re: Custom Intake Carbureted & Nitrous Setup

After talking with Jeff Chambers tonight, he will be dropping my heads off at Fox Lake Power Products (Ron Robart) to start their stage 3 CNC process. Including Full-Torque/full thread, aluminum spark plug inserts that I've requested.

Block/crank will be dropped off at CRT Performance (Jeff Chambers) to start the build up of the short block.

Re: Custom Intake Carbureted & Nitrous Setup

Jeff Chambers showed me today where the aluminum block has a lot of casting flash that pulls off by hand. Mostly inside where the oil pan bolts to the block, along the sides of the main caps. I was pretty shocked at the ease of this flash being pulled off.

I'm lucky none of this flash decided to come off and damage the motor/oil pump. Needless to say, the block will be deburred/cleaned of all casting flash.

Let the build begin!!!!!!!

Re: Custom Intake Carbureted & Nitrous Setup

Found a company in Ohio that fabricates .040" aluminum panels for 94-04 mustang engine bay inner fender wells, trunk, rear seat, door panels and so on. I'm planning on installing aluminum panels thru out my engine bay to hide/clean up the compartment.

Here is the link, scroll down untill you come to 94-04 Mustang:

Re: Custom Intake Carbureted & Nitrous Setup

Started the Strange master cylinder install, right now I'm mocking it up after removing the factory setup. This Strange manual brake MC is shifted away from the mod motor cam cover vs factory.

I have Scott from Scott Rod Fabrication, designing me an aluminum engine bay panel kit.
