What would you do?

My '04 mach is quickly reaching the 100,000 mile mark on the odometer. Just spent about $1000 in parts & labor fixing little issues that are "popping" up.

Debating if I should sell her and start fresh with the 5.0 Mustangs, or keep putting $$$ into maintenance instead of performance parts. I love my mach and planned on keeping it for my son to drive in about 6 years. I can only do bolt-on stuff so fixing it myself is out of the question.

I'm just curious, what would you do?

Re: What would you do?

Keep the mach for your son and instead of modding it buy the 5.0 so the mach is "persevered"..

Re: What would you do?

its hard I know, I truly do, but I love my new 5.0. if anything just get your son a mach down the road and i'm sure they will even be cheaper than they are now, and you can find a nice one then, but the new 5.0 will be amazing for sure, I love mine, I really would love to get another mach one day, maybe but I would love to have one or get a bullitt

Re: What would you do?

I agree, all my friends that sold there Mustangs regret it. I'll most likely keep it. Than buy a 5.0 next year when our Honda Pilot is paid off.

Thanks!

Re: What would you do?

I was in the same boat, after much thinking, I decided I have never owned a car this long, purchased it new, and since I still like it we have decided to built it up 'real' good. And it will be cheaper than buying a new 5.0.

Besides, I cannot imagine buying a 5.0 now not knowing what the new model will look like. I would rather wait a year to find out. Besides, parts are cheap and these things are easy to work on.

Re: What would you do?

Depends on what you mean by little issues popping up. I have 130,000 miles and honestly other than my modding the car, the only true issues I had was a fan blade broke and I rebuilt the trans with a clutch swap, other than that nothing, and I know nowadays $1000 could be one "pop up", keep the car!!! And looking at your list, seems the car is quite modded already, thought at first we were talking about a bone stock ride till I got to the end!!!

Re: What would you do?

We have most of the same mods. I only thought about selling mine once. Then, I had my head examined and found out that I'm crazy It's paid for, just as fast as new cars, easy to work on, and I don't have to worry about mods killing my warranty.

Re: What would you do?

Semi serious answer: Take it apart completely. Rebuild it from the ground up with new suspension, engine, and transmission. That's what I'll be doing with mine as soon as I finish school.
