Harvey......GET OUT!

Sorry for all the people in Texas who will suffer losses to the storm. This is a time to reach out and help if you have an opportunity.

Re: Harvey......GET OUT!

Heart goes out to all dealing with the misery. Maybe it's time to think about building an arc. These storms are getting ridiculous.

Re: Harvey......GET OUT!

My heart and prayers go out to everyone on the Texas gulf coast. Go back a year and replace the name Tx. with La. and you now know what we went through. This is going to be a long, hard and ugly road to recovery.

Re: Harvey......GET OUT!

Having been here most of my life, I can say this one will be the one that everyone compares the next storm to. Allison Held that distinction until Harvey. If it ended today it would be bad, but with at least 2 more full days or more of this its going to effect every part of the city.

This storm is similar to Allison as Allison was basically a 4-5 day event. And for those of you in NOLA you also got a unwelcome visit from that one if memory serves me correctly...

First day Allison Dropped @ 10 inches the first night that tuesday. then came back on Friday and dropped in some areas 32-40 inches.

This one will break that record easily.

Say prayers for all the folks anywhere near the Brazos...I have a good friend who lives in Simonton, that lost everything during last years events (memorial day and tax day floods). The brazos crested at @ 55 feet then, likely going to easily surpass that.

Thanks for all the prayers and well wishes. As soon as this breaks, off to work...going to have a lot of cars to see...

Re: Harvey......GET OUT!

The truly sad part is that the pain is just starting.
Not only will tens of thousands loose homes, and everything in them. Cars will be gone. Then businesses will be affected, and by that I mean not able to function in some form or in totality. Then the scammers who prey on people in times of trouble will descend. There will be heroes who emerge and good people will show their true colors. It's the other types that will show their colors as well.
I was at a friends last night who lost their house a year ago to 5 feet of flood water. The home they evacuated to got water go high later the same day they had to be evacuated off the roofs of the houses.Their house is not done, but is farther along because they took it upon themselves to do much of the hard work.
My store got 3 feet of water, and the amount of damage that caused was pretty painful to say the least.
You know my heart and best wishes go out to everyone in the area, mainly because I know the story chapter and verse. Don't blame yourself, don't second guess what you did, didn't do or though about doing. Know you did the best you could in the circumstance and that you and you alone will have the power to rebuild, should you chose or make the decision to make a home elsewhere. Godspeed to you all.
