Valve Covers

I want to clean up my engine & I am thinking that getting these painted azure blue or black (like the 2003) is the best way.

Has anybody done this? Prices? Recommendations?

Re: Valve Covers

Why paint them black? That's just 2003'ish! Click my pic's in my signature for an example. i think it's number 5, but can't remember.

Yep, it was.

Re: Valve Covers

have go with Swoop. if you paint them then match the car, don't go with black.

Re: Valve Covers

Save the hassle of getting them painted and having the car down for the timeframe and just get the blue Ford GT one's.

Re: Valve Covers

Put them on yourself. Pick up another set cheap, have them coated, then throw them on. Valve covers on these cars are not THAT hard. Drivers is a bit of a PITA, but nothing too bad.

Re: Valve Covers

I ended up putting on a set of Chromed covers for rhite95. He had bought a set and had the webbing smoothed down, all bolt heads were smoothed, and all parts chromed. IMHO this was an awesome setup! I know he posted a couple of photos in here of the setup, but they did not do it justice!

Please do. I'd be interested in the cost. I also want to do my CAI.

Re: Valve Covers

Still looking for a shop in DFW that does this & about how much to expect to pay. I'll probably call GearHeads tomorrow & see if they have any recommendations.

Re: Valve Covers

Had mine powdercoated Comp Orange a few years ago. I continue to get compliments on them. Well worth the time and expense to do it. I believe I paid ~$60 to have the valve covers and shaker bracket p'coated.

Re: Valve Covers

Thanks. $60'ish would be good. I can live with that. Just need to find a place close to home. I picked up the new gaskets - so I'm ready!!
