Exhaust
My question is this I have been thinking about putting headers and a x-pipe o/r pipe on my 2004 mach one Automatic I have talk to Paul the owner at Pauls High Performance who make the intake spacers. I asked does it pay to put headers and the o/r pipe on or just the pipe. How much HP will the headers give me with the pipe vs just the pipe. He told me just run the pipe. For the money and trouble of the install and the car just being a street car it didn't pay. My son has a 2010 Camaro with headers and stock exhaust and we where not to impressed by the headers alone until we put a o/r pipe on which turned the car into a different beast. So I ask what do you guys think headers or just pipe?

Adding the headers netted me 12hp to the tire with a o/r midpipe and catback already installed.

Re: Exhaust
Going from stock manifolds and an aftermarket catted x pipe to longtubes and offroad x felt like 40hp. It wasnt, but it felt like it. Power across the entire rpm range was definitely increased. And wot sound? Holy moly. They were one of my favorite mods I've done.

Re: Exhaust
I originally added just a pipe...it sounded like dog shut imo. I actually did bassani mids and made a huge difference in sound and added 15hp. I was super glad I did the headers. If I had to do all over again...I would skipped the mids and went straight to long tubes. Well worth it imo. Sound and performance

Re: Exhaust
I had longtubes way before blower. They were definitely worth it. I will eventually get ARH longtubes to replace these macs. Lousy ceramic coating.
