New Shoes for the Baby!
Trying a new drag radial, to follow Nitto 555R's. These aren't nearly as widely publicized as Nittos, BFGs, or Mickeys...but the feedback I do find indicates owners that believe them to have a comparable life to the Nittos, but with far superior street grip (as mine is a daily driver in nice weather, and never sees track time). We shall see!
For being the same size as my Nittos, they are at least an inch wider...a full 12 5/8 inches from sidewall to sidewall. Picked them up for $158 per tire (no sale, no promo code, regular price) Toyo Proxes TQ Drag Radial: Last edited by Bincky; 09-07-2012 at 11:04 PM. |

Re: New Shoes for the Baby!
How ironic i just created a thread about the widths of tires and how they don't always match their advertised metric widths.
Yeah they are definitely wider than the NITTO's... all this time i thought the nitto's were 12.4" but they surely run small. Great price btw. WOW... im really curious how they hold up and how you think they compare to the NITTO's. Im running 555r's now. Best of luck with them

Re: New Shoes for the Baby!
Toyo and Nitto are both owned by the same company I believe, and are both starting to really put out some good products and at competitive prices. I hear almost nothing but good things about all of Toyo's performance tires. Then again, I dont hear a whole lot of bad things about Nitto NT05, NT01, Nt01R, or even Invos.
Agreed on Nittos running small. Couple of the companies that sell wheel/tire packages on the vette forums for c6's admit to it too. Stock c6 z06 sizes are 275/35/18 and 325/30/19, and they almost always offer nittos in 285/35/18 and 345/30/19. |

Could you pm me where you got those tires at that price? Also, what size are those? Wonder if 275/40 will fit a stock wheels.

Re: New Shoes for the Baby!
$158 seems like a great price for drag radials. I paid $143 for my Toyo T1R's about 4 years ago. I think the T1R's have great grip also for a street tire. I believe Toyo makes the Nitto tires.
