I did mine right after buying the car, not realizing that the original owner had it done at 100,000 miles (at 128,000 now). Oh well...was only $25 bucks and peace of mind.

I did use a torque wrench. I grew up doing things by feel my whole life, and my father is a master mechanic with 40+ years experience and I don't even know if the man owns a torque wrench. However, stripping these aluminum head threads would be a nightmare. So I did use a torque wrench.

I've read 11-13 ft/lbs of torque is the spec, so I dialed in 12. I used a small amount of antiseize, because some of the plugs that were in the car were tight and hard to remove, especially the driver side plug near the firewall.

So far, all is well and no plugs have blown out on me. Fingers crossed...
