Local hole in the wall food places
Going on a road trip in 2 months and looking to experience some good food along the way. I'll list the route I'm going and if you're in the area let me know a good place or two to eat at or close by. Wanting places I can't get here in San Antonio or and where else.

Orlando - Johnny's Fillin' Station. It's a bar and grill with pretty good burger's and sandwiches. They have a place next door called Johnny's Other Side that has a wider variety of food than just burgers and sandwiches.
It's not out in the tourist areas but is pretty convenient to I-4 if your coming in that way

Re: Local hole in the wall food places
ya theres some good stuff around Orlando, just depends on where you go.
If theres a Keke's breakfast cafe nearby thats a local chain with very good breakfast. most of the places we go to are more around downtown Orlando and south towards the airport. Im not really sure whats around Universal/Disney etc... you can always try the Urban Spoon app (although they merged with someone else recently..cant remember what its called right this second) and itll show you nearby places and ratings/reviews.

Memphis, stop by Rendezvous for some ribs... Not really a hole in the wall type place but worth stopping for no doubt!

Re: Local hole in the wall food places
There is an awesome Italian hole in the wall across from Lamotta performance, don't no name , but they had the BEST sausage sandwich I have ever had and I am 1/2 Italian from Brooklyn, it was so big I could only eat 1/2, it is a mom and pop place with sons and daughters working there and granma was at a table making desserts. In Savannah hit the Crystal Beer Parlor and let me know when you get close and will meet up

Re: Local hole in the wall food places
Thanks for all the leads.
I'll be by Disney, but might stick around for a few more days pending on the rest of the schedule. I'm trying to catch a braves game so that will be the deciding factor on when I leave Orlando. |

Re: Local hole in the wall food places
There's a McGuires in P'Cola as well and although there is usually a pretty good wait for a table, it's well worth it!

Trip is coming up. Not much has changed on my destinations. I'll hit up some of the spots along the way and let you guys know where we went and how we liked it.
Thanks for the suggestions. |
