Shaker into Air intake

So i finally got my Mach 1 but the guy before me disconnected the pipe that goes down from the shaker to the left and connect into the air intake. I'm guessing when he put in the massive JLT air intake he just said screw it. Where can i find this part? And how important is it?

The part is not that important when actually the Shaker does almost nothing towards performance it's more of a "Looks" type of thing, Personally I would want it if I bought my Mach without it, you can try contacting your local ford dealer and get lucky

Re: Shaker into Air intake

yeah all the reviews i read say its more of an engine cooler if anything. just feel weird with out. also i recharched my air filter the other day and the flimsy little plastic heat shield broke. is it that bad to run it with just the filter sitting naked?

Re: Shaker into Air intake

I'm like that with all my mustangs too. I like to modify them, cant help it heh, but I also hold onto all the old parts so if it becomes a hangar queen it can be converted back to factory easily and because I dont want to pay $200.00 in 10 years for a milk jug (silencer??) because I threw mine away heh.

I did that with my 04 GT... gotta admit I made it into a Mach clone, purchased a new Mach 1 spoiler, chin spoiler etc. Put an exhaust system on it and a few other changes but kept the stock exhaust in storage with a bunch of other stuff. The dealer I got the Mach from paid me an extra 1k to the price of the GT if I brought in all the stock stuff so I stuck it all in the trunk and brought it with me and he was good on his word, he said it helps to sell a car that's been modified when the new possible owner knows he has the stock parts incase he doesnt like the mods. Only thing I couldnt give him was the original ring and pinion though, but who wouldnt be happy with an 04 GT Mach clone with a 4.10 upgrade??

Re: Shaker into Air intake

found i think i was looking for. and also fixed my heat shield. should all fit perfect with the air coming in through the shaker going straight into the whole that was made for Mach 1 intakes that is cut out on top of the heat shield. so when its all done i should have the coldest air possible going into my filter. will post pics after i get it all put in

I just bought that intake. Getting the heat shield connected to the ram air was a PITA.

Re: Shaker into Air intake

i wouldn't spend the cash on one IMO. Though it sucks that the original owner didnt throw in in the trunk for ya its now not really cost effective in obtaining one. I did read somewhere it adds a little hp up top but nothing you'd ever feel. Id invest your cash elsewhere UNLESS ofcourse you come by one real real cheap but plan on spending 200-300 bucks if you go new (think a few pop up on ebay once in awhile)

Re: Shaker into Air intake

yeah the hood scoop itself doesnt add much i read. more of a engine cooler than anuthing but it just bothers the crap out of me not having my engine complete. i just bought the piece that goes to the shaker to the filter from a guy on here that was barely used. 50 bucks shipped

Re: Shaker into Air intake

So i got my intake pieces in yesterday and got her all hooked up. They were practically brand new, l got a great deal for these, 50 bucks shipped. he literally took them off 6 years ago for a supercharger and have been sitting in the garage. i cant think of his screen name at the moment but great guy and great buy. again here's the before pics and after. like saying earlier i probably didn't gain even a single horse power, it was just killing me know my shaker was pure decoration
