Official 2008 - 2nd Annual Mach 1 Showdown - FREE!!! - 2003-04 Mach 1 Registry Owners Club

It's official folks. I locked in September 19th as our race day. We have the track from 10AM to 4PM. The contract that I have to sign is in the mail right now. If rain catches us them we get our money back.

Those who volunteered to help pay for the rental, please send me a PM and I'll get you my info so that I can start getting the money end organized. For those who are interested, there will be cash prizes as well as other prizes for this event. I'll post up actual figures once we get closer to the race day. We need people to actually show up. The event is FREE so please don't disappoint everyone. If attendence looks to be low, then it will be opened up to OTHER Mustangs to come have an open track day (for a small fee) but they will not be able to enter our events (I may throw in an all attendence bracket race, tho). With the left-over proceeds, there will be an after-race-day party at a local establishment. Use this thread to let me (and everyone) know that you will be attending.

Sign up soonest so that an accurate count can be made.

Sponsorship os key to getting this event off the ground. Right now we have around 15 Mach 1's that want to give this a shot. As of right now, I have received $0 from sponsors. Without this money, there will be no track rental - I am not willing to pay the $1800 out of my own pocket. I can definitely do SOME of the entry but definitely not all. If I don't get my PM's returned by the end of next week, this event will be cancelled.

That sucks. I hope the sponsors can come up with the money. What if you charged everyone $20 or $30 entry fee to cover the event? That would still be similar in cost to a TnT type event.

$30 x 15 Machs is still only $450.. he needs $1800.

$120 a piece would cover it. I'm down if my car is ready by then (read: not likely)

Sorry, I was thinking it would need to be opened up to all Mustangs to come up with the $1800 and keep the individuals cost down.

My original plan was to (with sponsors) have the track rental paid for. Then we could have around 20-30 other Mustangs come at $25-$30 each that would cover a party afterward at a local establishment. Right now, I can't even make the money for the track rental, so this may end up being cancelled.

i'd love to go, but im 7 hours away from there according to map quest. is anyone staying in a hotel there? maybe we could try to get a special group rate. it depends on what my money situation looks like when that time comes around, but i will keep my calendar open just in case i have the money.

If you like camping, I live about 2 horus from the track (right off I77). You can camp out at our cabin if you like. Full electric, water, pond, bon fire. The offer is open to everyone. Just let me know a couple days ahead of time.

I still have not received the track rental sponsorship money yet, so it is still not even OFFICIALLY going to happen. Once I receive the money, then I'll send the money to the track and post up that the event is on. Either way, you'll know by Friday of this week whether I received the money or not. If not, then I'll post up an official "Event Cancelled" notification.
