Re: Carlisle All Ford nationals - Mach 1 Registry Meet June 6-8, 2008

So I've got some bad news guys. I may not be bringing the Mach down nor attending this year. I spent last night in the hospital with all of the signs of appendicitis. The CT scan revealed nothing but I've been losing most if my fluid intake out both ends for 15 hours now. If this stops by 10pm tonight I'll be down but otherwise I'll have to see y'all next year.

The issue is that its not appendicitis. Its some really
bad bug. So instead of a quick surgery, I have to just ride it out.

Re: Carlisle All Ford nationals - Mach 1 Registry Meet June 6-8, 2008

The National Weather Service (web|news) has issued Tornado Watch in effect until 8:00 p.m. this evening for five midstate counties.

The counties included in the Tornado Watch are Adams, Cumberland, Franklin, Lancaster and York.

Tornadoes, hail to 2 inches in diameter, thunderstorm wind gusts to 70 mph, and dangerous lightning are possible in these areas.

As Boney said welcome to the Ford Nationals. So much for finishing the car tonight.

Re: Carlisle All Ford nationals - Mach 1 Registry Meet June 6-8, 2008

Okay I made it to the motel and am checked in. The weather started out great and clear sailing through South Carolina, North Carolina, and all of Virginia. However when I hit West Virginia, Maryland, and Pennsylvania it was a different story.

I basically had to swim the last three states. It was bad. I think it was raining sideways and if there were any tornados, you couldn’t see them because of the low visibility. It was IFR flying only and I pulled back the throttle and stayed about 100 feet off the bumper and in the wake of a big eighteen-wheeler. He had more lights glowing than a Christmas tree and that was the only thing that let me see him. I rode in his tire groves to keep from hydroplaning off the road. Couple of times I got too far back and lost the trail. As long as I stayed about 100 feet back it was all right. I followed him for about 75 miles and think I only blinked twice, boy are my eyes dried out (LOL).

I’m not sure why I washed my car yesterday. It looks like I finished second in a mud bogging contest. Anyway, the motel’s great and I’m off to their evening buffet in a few minutes. See you guys later.

Well I dont know if I'll be joining you guys for the buffet but I think I'll be able to make All Fords. My illness is starting to fade after about 23 hours of being constantly sick. As long as the gf didnt catch it we will be comming down Friday and then staying through Sunday though I'll be headed back north for drag racing Friday night at my local track.

Re: Carlisle All Ford nationals - Mach 1 Registry Meet June 6-8, 2008

should be heading out around 8:30 Thursday AM... so depending on how much time we can make, we should be there around 4:30pm or sooner... I'd like to get there in time to stop by the fairgrounds and then check into the hotel before heading head out for dinner.

It's gonna be a tight timetable... and work didn't cooperate this evening so I'm late packing up and the Mach is in gated storage until 8am... and it's dirty under the hood...

If we don't get there in time for the Hooter's meal, you can find us chillin' by the poolside with a few beers.

Travel safe everyone.
