This is a mod I've been considering for sometime and just wanted to see if anyone has some buying experience in this field.

Thanks in advance.

BTW, lets hear a little more on how you like them..............

Re: Where would you buy your aluminum flywheel??

Does that kit there included the whole clutch assembly?

Is that set-up there really any more beneficial then what we have stock in the MACh1's??

??????????

Re: Where would you buy your aluminum flywheel??

Aluminum flywheel, pressure plate and disc, dowels, etc.
Similar to what a Mach has, except an aluminum flywheel from the 03/04 Terminator Cobra.
Nice thing, OEM type pedal pressure, pretty good price, and FRPP stuff is very good quality.
I personally prefer FRPP/OEM parts to most aftermarket stuff, depending what it is.
Some things are aftermarket, and FRPP puts an FRPP "sticker on it", but this setup is OEM.

Re: Where would you buy your aluminum flywheel??

i would do a Fidenza and a new Centerforce clutch, the FRPP stuff seems like 1/2 way inbetween stock and aftermarket to me. i would rather spend the money on something like the Fidenza and a CenterForce DFX clutch rather then a stock 03 cobra clutch and flywheel

Re: Where would you buy your aluminum flywheel??

Won't a lighter aluminum flywheel, while getting better dyno numbers......decrease track performance via not getting better launches due to less rotatign weight???

in other words.....are there ANY drawbacks to a fidanza???

Re: Where would you buy your aluminum flywheel??

I have on order a 03/04 Cobra setup $525 from Gene Evans Ford, but you will have to add tob, pilot bearing etc. As far as launching on drag tires I suppose you would have to raise rpm's a bit? I'm not a drag racer just a guess.

Well, you need to remember that road course's are tracks too. A lightweight flywheel is more beneficial for all aspects of racing except for drag launches. Then again, I know several drag racers that went with the aluminum flywheels for their cars and love 'em.

the intial "hit" will be less with the aluminum flywheel in an drag app.
I had to raise my launch rpm 500-1000 over what i used to launch with the stock flywheel to get my 60fts and track times back to where they were...........would i do an aluminum flywheel again? hell yes.

oh yeah get a fidanza from mark@lightningforceperformace

I ended up buying the clutch kit from lightningforceperformance.com which combine the Fidanza flywheel, Centerforce DFX plus input shaft. When I mentioned that I learned about them from this site he offered me free shipping and a free pilot bearing.
