Are these rotors legit?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Ford-...m150253504231&

I was browsing through ebay's selection of rotors for mustangs. The selection is wildly large. These caught my eye. But I am afraid of cracking crappy rotors. Anyone have input on these? or reccomendations for drilled/slotted rotors. I'm wanting to go with drilled and slotted for the look. I think they'll stand out behing my saleen wheels with some red calipers

Re: Are these rotors legit?

but arent some rotors actually cast with the holes in them instead of actually drilled?

I would change that to say that any rotor CAN crack reguardless of who makes them. I have had drilled and slotted rotors for 2.5 years and they have not cracked yet. But I also do not road race it and heat the crap out of my brakes. The most abuse they see is slowing down the car after a 1/4 pass.

BTW if they chamfer the drilled holes this supposedly lessens the likely hood of cracking from the holes. Is this true or not, I could not tell you.

Drilled and slotted rotors are fine for a street car. Just do not use a hard compound pads they have more metal in them and heat the rotors uptoo much. I just use the stock Cobra pads ,no noise either. The chamfered holes do help lessen the stress fractures. You can also send any rotor off to have them cryro treated to help stop fracturing .Even solid rotors will crack if abused or when the brakes are not sized right for the intended use.Thats why the faster you go the bigger the brakes need to be.
