Larry Shinoda, who did all the styling features of the '69 Boss 302 as well as '70 Boss. I believe he was also responsable for the graphics on the Boss 429 as well. His personal 428 CJ car was the mule for the Boss 302 concepts. He also enjoyed a long run at GM where he did the Corvair concept and Stingray show cars.

Very cool! Nice to see the pics and hear such a great story of a person who had such an awesome impact on the Mustang world and will be missed be never ever forgotten!

For today; since we are talking Boss and Larry Shinoda; in addition to the Bosses, Stingray, Mako Shark and (Corvair) Monza GT, he also was responsable for another important bow tie road warrior and a pair of blue oval aero warriors. What are these three cars? What were the two plants that built '70 Boss 302s and name one difference between cars built at those plants (there are a number of them)? What is the difference between a correct '69 and a '70 Boss rear spoiler?

Some 69-70 Mach1s did not have rear spoilers.

The 69 rear spoiler was angled forward. The 70 rear spoiler was not.

I was beginning the feel like one of those stand up comics that couldn't get a response from the audience!

The '69 Boss 302 spoiler was molded plastic, later Mustangs have fibreglass spoilers. A correct '69 spoiler sags in the middle over time and is actually considered a sign of a proper restoration.

Shinoda did the degign work for the Z/28 Camaro.

He also did the design work for the Torino Talledaga and Mercury Cyclone Spoiler II, as well as their never produced replacements the King Cobra and Cyclone Super Spoiler.

The Boss 302's were built at the Metuchen plant as well as Dearborn. There are a number of differences; location of the build tag, surface finish of headlight buckets behind the grille, underside of the trunk finish, mounting of the trunk rod clip, rear panel stripe position, choke knob positioning, location of the rear portion of the side stripes, as well as a few more minor details.

As far as the song...hmmm, the only one that comes to mind is Mustang Sally.

"Come on Eileen...", I remeber it well and I really can't remember a Mustang reference in it. You're gonna have to sing a few bars for me...

For today; In 1965 there was a TV series that ran for one season. It revolved around a female P.I. that took on the task after the death of her father. What was the name of the series (the same name of the main charater), who was the star actress, and what kind of car did she drive (this is where the blue oval part comes in that allows such goofball questions as this!)?

Bonus; What 'piece of garbage' leader in exile was captured by US troops in a day that all will remember for a very long time (namely today!)? (Heck, from now on he's nothing but a piece of trivia as far as I'm concerned!)

For today; In 1966 Ford built a one off prototype Mustang convertible that had a very special and unique top. What was unique about this car, what other Ford shared this and was a production vehicle?

Just a guess, but maybe a removable hardtop, like the Thunderbirds had in 55, 56, 57.

The retractable hardtop was tried on a '66 Mustang, but was deemed to complex and expensive for production. Ford introduced it on the '57 Skyliner, which ran until 1959. Mitsubishi brought back the retratable hardtop on the 3000GT Spyder, which was soon discontinued and the MB pick it up and continues with it today.

I'm sorry but I really don't understand the question! Did you ask Santa for a Leap Pad Syntax and Spelling program for Christmas?

Or, I could send it to my friends at the Puzzle Palace, run by that fun group known as the NSA...but that could get really nasty and you might end up in Gitmo...

Could it beeeeee...the FPV Falcon racers from the Australian Touring Car Championship Series????

For today, the much forgotten '71 Boss 351 replaced the Boss 302 as Fords homologation special for the Trans Am series. What rule allowed this larger engined car to be allowed in? How did this rule affect the earlier 'Pontiac Trans Am' automobile? What was cosmetically different from the Mach 1 and the Boss 351? Bonus; what two luxury/comfort options could you not get on the Boss 351?
