SoCal Cruise Oct 1 and Show Oct 2 - 2003-04 Mach 1 Registry Owners Club

Hey guys,

The San Diego Mustang club is putting on their yearly show down here in San Diego on Oct 2 (The first Sunday in Oct). We have some fellow Mach 1 owners coming in from Arizona and we are trying to put a cruise together on Saturday the 1st so they can see all of the SoCal Machs. I am going to be out of town for the next two weeks but I will be checking in from time to time. If you guys want to do a cruise let me know and if you have any ideas of places to stop or good roads to take post those also. I would like to see us get as many of the LA/OC guys to come as possible so maybe we can meet in the middle and cruise form there.

If you have not registered for the show yet you can go to http://www.sdmustangs.com/R05registration.htm and get the form. Last year the Mach 1/Bullitt Class had about 25 cars in it – the whole show was about 260 mustangs. The show is at Embarcadero Park North which is a peninsula that sticks out in the harbor. We actually park right on the grass.

You can count on at least 3 Cars from Phoenix, 2 from Tucson, and I will be trying to get more of the guys from the Registry to come over for the Cruise and Show.

Count me in, also. Suggestion on cruise- Kinda long, but the Julian run would be nice... Good mix of mountain driving...

Too bad that this event is being held on the same weekend as FFW. The venue for the car show can't be beat. Maybe next time these two events won't fall on the same weekend. Have a good time on the cruise and at the show.

An update for you all. We are on for the cruise. We are finalizing the route. I am thinking about meeting somewhere up by the 5 and the 78. From there head to Julian and then through San Diego's East County. More to come...

Here are the details for our cruise: We are planning on meeting at the Starbucks off the 78 just east of five. The address is 2183 Vista Way, Oceanside, CA 92054. If you map it, the Starbucks is just north of the 78 on the west side off the Jefferson St exit. My plan is to be there at 9:30 but wait to leave at 10:00. So come early grab a drink and look at the other cars. From there we will head to Julian - about a 1.25 hr drive. Have lunch in Julian and then leave for what will be an awesome cruise through the east county of San Diego - a little over 2 hours basically all twisties. We will end the cruise at the Dave and Busters just off the 8 in San Diego. I figure we should be at D&B’s by about 3:30 or 4:00. If you plan on attending please post up so we can get a count and know how many people to wait for at Starbucks. Also if you have a motorola radio you want to bring I know at least a couple of us will have them - cell phones are very unreliable where we are going so radios are the best way to communicate. If you have any questions let me know. Hope to see a bunch of you there.

I have done that cruise before,its awesome!!! Unfortunely i have to work that afternoon.I will be at the "Q" friday night to check out the races,and also be there sunday at Embarcadero park.

Oh and P.S. Those of you with a weak stomach that can’t handle a few turns, blind corners and elevation changes I don’t recommend keeping up with me.. Ha Ha

Sounds good Brent, just ran a copy off on my printer. Might be a good turn out with FFW cancelled. Will be 2 Machs from Phoenix, and, I belive 2 from Tucson over for the weekend. See you at Starbucks Sat AM.

For those coming from San Diego and AZ... We will be meeting at the In-n-Out Burger(2005 Camino Del Este, San Diego, CA 92108) in Mission Valley at 8:30 to all leave by 8:45 to head to the starbucks meeting place. For those coming from AZ it is about 7 minutes from the hotel. See you all there.
