Fuel Pressure sensor issue again??

From previous post 3 weeks ago. Had the sensor replaced, on way back from show again yesterday and it died again!!! 50 miles tow this time

http://www.mach1registry.org/forums/...d.php?t=135075

Waiting to have it looked at today. Any thoughts?? Don't know what the code is yet? Would a fuel pump go after only 3 years??

Re: Fuel Pressure sensor issue again??

Had it flat bedded to the mechanic and this was the reading again.
He cleared out the computer (new Ford program), loaded it again and drove it 25 miles and it purred like a kitten he said.

I'd feel a little better if he found something wrong.
Do you think the code wasn't cleared properly?

I drove it almost 90 miles Sunday before it died?

Re: Fuel Pressure sensor issue again??

the code is either cleared or it isnt so I dont see that being the issue.

if it comes up again Id be tempted to go ahead and replace the FRPS which is pretty easy

Re: Fuel Pressure sensor issue again??

Food for thought...our 06 threw a code for the FRPS about a month ago. The car was still running fine though. So naturally I checked other things, but the code kept coming back. So I ordered a new FRPS and swapped it out. The code hasn't come back since.

Re: Fuel Pressure sensor issue again??

Thanks! Got it back yesterday. The mechanic drove it over 50 miles.
He cleared out the computer and reloaded it and that seemed to do the trick.

Re: Fuel Pressure sensor issue again??

Help Again!!! See previous posts first.

Took it to my second show in a few months Today(injured foot another story) and it happened again!!!

Drove it 50 Miles two weeks ago with no problems. Drove fine aprox. 15 miles this morning to a show it was fine! Went to start it up and it started with a slugglish hesitation after this show. and it started bucking when I got on to a little. It's at a friends house waiting to be towed in the morning. This is crazy! only 31k on her.

Re: Fuel Pressure sensor issue again??

is it tuned? If I recall there are things in the tune that can cause a pressure surge that breaks the bladder in the FRPS. The Kenne Bell burst disc supposedly helps, seems like kind of a bandaid but if it works it works

They checked to see it the fuel pump was shorting (it was replaced 3 years ago) It wasn't. How about the injectors??

After they replaced the Fuel Pressure sensor and it did it again they cleared the computer and reloaded it.

Re: Fuel Pressure sensor issue again??

I dont think injectors would cause it, its the pressure in the rail.

who tuned it?

Re: Fuel Pressure sensor issue again??

After months of messing with this and 3 flat beds back from shows I finally took it to another garage and this was the problem... One of the copper wires to the electrical connection to the Fuel Pressure Sensor was hanging on by one small strand benneth the insullation!!! So every time I closed the hood at a show or hit a bump the car would the car would dog down but not necessarily send a code!
