Re: Kicking Off another Mach 1 Motor Build
Is it just me or does the tops of the pistons and the bowl for that vavle look really 'dirty' for only 300 miles of break in? I mean I took apart my 98gt to PI swap it, it had 126k on it and the tops of the pistons and heads didnt look that 'black'.
either way, good luck with it. I went through problems with build too. I had the old Comp gears, and they exploded on me during break-in driving right after i pulled out of the driveway, maybe 100 miles into it. Had to limp it back in the driveway with one cam not spinning...... |

Re: Kicking Off another Mach 1 Motor Build
The motor is back in and the shop had it running last night.
I'm waiting on the phone call saying "Come and get it!!!!!" And my luck couldn't change at a better time - off to Vegas on Friday...

Re: Kicking Off another Mach 1 Motor Build
It just got running again, so no tune yet. I'm not even sure if it's on the stock tune, or the custom tune that was done about 5 years ago I'll check that when I bring it home this afternoon.
But, the motor had 300 miles on it before the valve problem. So, I'm hoping to get another 200 on it and then get it tuned, which won't be hard considering I'll probably get it done in the Seattle area. I'm doing a lot of traveling over the next couple months, so I just need to coordinate the tuning with the trips. But right now, it's running so much better than before, I'm thinking the valve problem was there from the begining.
