Re: Die -cast cars

Went out for a little Xmas shopping today. Picked up 2 more presents for me along with the rest. Does anyone have the Hot Wheels 2007 Holiday Rods? They have some 1970 Machs. I think they are in red, green, & white. I found the red & white ones. Mostly I wanted the white one.

I want one too. I see some on Ebay, but they are over $100. Too much when the other colors are around $40.

You are one lucky shopper. I've been looking for those things for months now, and have found everything else from that series but the Mach 1's. There are some Hot Wheels Ho's in my town that snag up all the good stuff, often before it gets to the peg hooks. It's really the only thing I'be really been looking for lately, although I know the '07 GT500 is now out in white w/blue stripes...just haven't seen them in stores yet.

If anyone wants 'em I could go back tomorrow. I didn't get the very last ones, at least one set of what i got left on the shelf. I was at Target. But speak up now. I'd need to head over in the morning.

Re: Die -cast cars

Another...does anyone want that Hot Wheels Mustang boxed set? It has 5 Mustangs with 1 older red metallic Mach1 in it. I have seen plenty of those. I have one. I can post pics of any of the things I've mentioned if anyone is curious. I have 2 little boys and I ALWAYS have to hit the Hot Wheels and stuff at the store. I get my own toys when I see a Mach. I wish they had more Machs!

And no ebay prices with me, haha! You guys are my buds.

Re: Die -cast cars

I'd love to get those, if it's not too out of the way for you.
Check out the rear wheels on the bottom car of the Mustang 5 pack (called at various times Boss Hoss or 1968 Mustang), they don't match the front. It's actually not an error, they're all like that!?! It's still a pretty cool car and has shown up in various colors, but you're right. The '70 Mach 1 in the set is by far the coolest thing in the pack.

Re: Die -cast cars

I need some suggestions on how to display a lot of Hot Wheels I have. I only have one currio cabinet and it's full of Cobras and Mustangs so I was thinking of hanging them on the wall some how. There are more than 50 and all still on the cards, what's a good way to mount/hang them on the wall?

I have some of mine in the plastic cases they sell.

In the pack that I have, the botom Stang is black with yellow and orange flames and a ton of motor coming through the hood. I also agree, the '70 Mach is the best one though. The second to last one(mine is blue) looks kinda ricey to me though. I don't know if it's suppose to be a stock car or what. It kinda looks like it might be because of how wide the bottom of the car is compared to the top.

I just picked up this cool Torino Cobra Twister Special for $20.00 at the annual Turkey Rod Run in Daytona. Came with the stock dog dish wheels and Mag 500s.

A photagrapher just took some nice shots of my custom one-of-one "damaged" Bullitt GT 390 for my art book...

My uncarded cars (of which there are few) are in plastic cases, but for my special How Wheels I use Protect-O-Packs. They sell them in W-Marts', and K-Marts. They ususally are in 10 packs and include a car as well. Johnny Lighting is now packing their cars in hard plastic packaging so that extra protection is not required. I got a lot of them (JLs, HWs, MBs) hanging on my hall wall with push pins.

Also, if you recall the link many pages back about the guy who has the super-mega collection, he's one of the winners in the Car & Driver 10 Best diecast collections. Actually none of the other winners come close, but they really don't give a good photo to give you any idea of the vastness of the collection.

Re: Die -cast cars

Cool cars, guys.
I really like the Ford GT, signed or not. That is my "If I win the lottery" car! We have a few here, but they belong to my son. I just hoard all of the Stangs.

Falcon, didn't get out today much. My youngest was sick. He has a bad track record of throwing up in stores and even worse...in the car! He hasn't christened my Mach yet, and he ain't gonna! I'll be out shopping tomorrow though. If I see any HW holiday machs, I'll get all they have. This is not a good time of year though, shelves get empty. I'll look though, for sure.

Much appreciated if you can, if you can't... I still appreciate the thought. Hope the youngest gets better soon.
