Ducts On

Got the Kenny Brown brake duct kit on the car. Hopefully I can get more than one track day out of a set of pads/rotors now. Spring prep complete

Re: Ducts On

very nice. I have that KB setup but the hoses got all chewed up with way they were routed by before I got them. Id also have to figure out where to mount the intake side, I need all the air I can get through the main opening for the intercooler.

Re: Ducts On

You can take out the fog lights and mount them there. Should keep them out of the way of everything else, but obviously you will lose the fogs.

Found it interesting that the intakes weren't cut out when they arrived. You need to cut them.

Very nice, what pads you run on track day? I bought a brand new set of Raybestos ST-47 NASCAR race pads using stock rotors. On the street, nooooo, squeal like hell and they want heat. At a road course, OMG, the more they got hot, the better they worked and they were incredible. One track day and they look untouched. I was braking deeper than Vettes..that good, drivin instructor loved them.Race shop in NC was proud of them, think I paid $250+ for set. You will have no brake heating up with them, sweet, congrats.

I'm running Hawk HT-10's this time around. Last time I ran Pagid RS-19's and they still didn't last more than one day. I was down to the backing plates by the end of the day.

I've run the Hawk HT-10's before with the same outcome as the Pagids, however, they are much cheaper, so decided to go with them again. If I'm gonna burn through a set of pads, I'd rather spend $130 than $260.

I haven't tried the Raybestos. I'll see how things go this time around with the ducts and maybe make the move to those for the next event.

You won't burn thru these. I have to decide if I am going to do more track days, I have these pads wrapped up, like I said, one day, 7 25 min sessions and they look new...may sell if I decide not to go, may try one more time with Eaton. Good luck man.

Do they eat through rotors?

No, not at all. I am actually using stock rotors from Advance Auto and they had been on my car already before putting ST 47 pads on them I boxed up the rotors as well, they look great as well. j rick kirby was the one who suggested pads and using parts house rotors...he knew what he was talking about, on track day I use matching pads/rotors since I bedded them in together. They really are that good...get these pads, you will NOT be disappointed. Let me add as well I flushed all my brake fluid and filled with Motul 600, on a long straight, before a 90 degree corner, they had cones counting down from 6 to 1, I was hitting 135 down straightaway and braking at 3, it would literally slam you forward. Never, not once, did I have any fade, first lap was ok, once they got some heat, man oh man...now if I can get over my fear of spinning out..but that is a different story lol

Re: Ducts On

Nice, sounds like I will be picking up a set of those next time around.

Had some close calls on spin outs eh?

Do you have any experience with the MM steering column? Looking to improve steering feel since stock is pretty numb. Already put poly bushings on the steering rack, which might have helped, but can't really tell.

Also, I'm running FR500 replica wheels which are crazy heavy. Any suggestions for lightweight wheels that don't look like crap but won't completely break the bank? Would like to keep the FR500 style (or close to it) because I love how those look. Any suggestions are appreciated!
