pulling the motor with long tubes
are there any issues in coming out the top with Kooks longtubes? Theyre the smaller primaries into 2.5" collectors.
saw a guy with round body style car claiming he couldnt come out the top with his kooks but not sure what set he had.

Re: pulling the motor with long tubes
There's a pinch point, I think where the k-member bolts to the subframe. I have the 1 7/8" tubes and they are NOT coming out the top.

Re: pulling the motor with long tubes
So even with an aftermarket k member huh? I'll have to double check exactly what I have

Re: pulling the motor with long tubes
after looking at their site mine would have to be 1 5/8" 2.5" collector setup, not sure if that is enough to make it clear or not

Re: pulling the motor with long tubes
you have the bigger long tubes as well though right?
****** I dont wanna go out the bottom at home lol...afraid Im gonna get stuck...doing it at work I had 12 ton stands and a forklift. at home I have regular 3000lb stands, ramps, a floor jack, transmission jack and Ill borrow a hoist...not quite sure how to go about this so I dont end up stuck somehow

Re: pulling the motor with long tubes
Lift the motor out with the LT's installed until you hit the pinch point and by this time you should have plenty of access to the header bolts and just remove one of the LT's. That is what I did helping a buddy pull a 99 Cobra motor with Lt's installed.

Re: pulling the motor with long tubes
Did you end up going out the bottom? How did it work out?

Re: pulling the motor with long tubes
I am going to go out the bottom just didn't get as much Garage time as I would have liked last weekend. I'm all set up for this weekend, only thing left in the way is the a.c. Compressor.
On the advice of machgsxr I bought two wheel dollies for the fruit for super low clearance, well see what happens

Re: pulling the motor with long tubes
Good luck. Bummer you have to pull it but it goes that way sometimes.
